Why is no one making Indy games anymore? No new AAA movie games like tomb raider or uncharted, no point'n'clicks like fate of atlantis, just nothing. Meanwhile star wars had 3 games since disney bought lucasfilm.
Why is no one making Indy games anymore? No new AAA movie games like tomb raider or uncharted...
>tfw no love for the best protagonist in the history of entertainment
There was a 7th gen Indy game in the works that Lucasfilms cancelled for some reason. It probably could've been overall enjoyable.
>indiana Jones game
>point'n'click
How did you get a time machine in 1997?
> No new AAA movie games like tomb raider or Uncharted
as if an Indiana Jones game would be significantly different from Tomb Raider or Uncharted.
You should know better than to ask. The late 19th - early 20th century spirit of high adventure is grade A problematic. Nobody will touch it again unless it's specifically to point out how darn EVIL those white men were.
The whip would make all the difference. Indy and the Emperor's Tomb honestly had the best implementation of a whip in any game i've ever played.
Doesnt EA have the license? There's probably no micro transaction potential so they don't bother.
It would have a likeable protagonist
There was a point'n'click resurgence after crowdfunding became a thing. Old remasters and new games from both Tim Schafer and Ron Gilbert so why not?
They have exclusive Star Wars license
A fan remaster of Fate of Atlantis was killed in development by Lucasarts for basically no reason
ikr
Nobody except for boomers remembers Indiana these days.
fpbp
>no Indiana Jones world
>why is no one making indy games
Its because uncharted and tomb raider exist. If an indiana Jones game came out today, faggots will say "hurr they're ripping off shit raider hurr". And people will prefer the "Micheal bay" tomb raider and "press W to win" uncharted.
Also, indiana jones is pretty much dead. I know they're making a sequel but its gonna suck massive shit just because the wolverine director is making it. Star wars makes money, indiana jones won't. You think EA is gonna make a tie in for a shit movie?
What Indy games were there anyway? There was the point and click adventure, that one SNES platformer and I believe some PS1 Tomb Raider-like game. Were there any others?
I think the good ones are
>fate of Atlantis
>last crusade point and click
>infernal machine
>emperors tomb
>and both lego games
Because Indy was never good. It's always been a retarded boomer-tier series.
The one on the og xbox was good at the time. Just play Uncharted or Tomb Raider. There's no way an Indy game will ever be as good as the newest versions of those. Ever.
>its gonna suck massive shit just because the wolverine director is making it
>3:10 to yuma, logan, and ford v ferrari are shit movies
well as least you aren't directing it
Well have you tried La Mulana? While not recent, I certainly recommend it.
why would you ever ask for an old IP to be dredged up for the hacks today?
It's basically the fault of Lucas Arts who only cared about Star Wars, even so much, that the development of the Staff of Kings went completely of the rails with the last gen ports being the only survivors of the dumpster fires.
Seeing how Disney absolutely doesn't care about Star Wars, or at least making good Star Wars games, it should surprise absolutely no one, that Indiana Jones is dead and forgotten.
I would like to take this opportunity to say Kathleen Kennedy deserves to be nailed to a cross and paraded through the streets.
it's better than having a bad movie.
they'd have to really ham it up to compete with uncharted
I will never not be mad about cancellation of Staff of Kings for 360/PS3.
The last movie with that faggot as his son was so bad I stopped watching movies altogether.
>I know they're making a sequel
I binged all of the Indiana Jones movies a few weeks ago and I honestly can't understand why they would even want to make a sequel.
Despite returning to the character and franchise, Harrison Ford just keeps getting older and the character's story came to a logical conclusion in both Last Crusade and Crystal Skull, just leave it at that.
this desu
people are not romaticized by discoveries of antiques anymore
>infernal machine
Yeah that's the one I was thinking about, I said PS1 but it was N64/PC after all. The SNES one could have been good too but it's way too frustrating.
>best protagonist
>tfw got into Indiana Jones because of the LEGOs as a kid
>Now most people in my age group don't know who the character is despite being one of Harrison Ford's most iconic roles that isn't Han Solo
It hurts.
Uncharted and Tomb Raider
Infernal Machine was so much better than Tomb Raider IV which released around the same time, yet everything only got worse from here. Emperor's Tomb is some sort of proto-Uncharted and Staff of the Kings is just sad.
I really want an indy game now damnit OP
its understandable though. indiana jones was a throwback when it was new. it was nostalgia bait for an age group thats so old now they barely even remember it. it would be like your grandkid getting excited over avengers movies.
