This any good?
This any good?
I want to know too. I just got an Xbox One X and I heard it's pretty decent now.
>next gen right around the corner
>bought an xbox one x
>bought a console
you buffoon
I personally really like it. It's especially fun to dick around on a galleon with your friends.
Tried to love it since day 1. It simply doesn't have a lot of "fun" to it. Not wacky and zany enough for "make your own enjoyment", and not enough structure to being a good pirate sim.
It's all fetch quests.
What if you don't have friends?
yea
Yes it's very good providing the followin:.
You have friends to play it with you and help you out.
You're not a little bitch who cries about PvP every time you get ganked.
You're someone who understands the phrase "it's as fun as you make it" and can accept that if you're a boring asshole then the game probably isn't for you.
I've honestly had some of my best online gaming moments in this game and if you can get a regular crew then it's great!
If you don't have friends, it's kind of iffy. I'll find myself spending an hour at most doing voyages solo.
It's fun for a few hours.
agreed I've sort of got good enough where I can take on crews solo now I've I'm sneaky and fuck with them. But as a new player it would be very hard to get into.
Better with a crew
Doable solo
Isn't it on gamepass? Just try it and find out for yourself.
It was pretty hard for me to get into it when I started, but I got the advantage of crewing with a bunch of high level players, so I basically started off with about 200k gold.
Good idea friend
i played it on gamepass and it has so much potential but none of the fucking game design is there to back it up.
I play this game a ton. The pvp is super interesting and there is a ton of stuff to do now compared to when it launched.
Game is definitely completely different from what it was at the beginning. There's a lot of real incentive to do the things in the world now or just go fuck up someone's day. Kind of a bitch on your own though, find a group or some others to join or you'll find it rough to jump into
>Sailing around freely
>First person
>Making little adjustments to sails as you go
>Lovely water
>Mooring on a quiet island and fishing
Why aren't there more first person sailing games?
I don't give a shit about next gen, mainly wanted a 4k media box that plays games and they were super discounted a week or two back.
Nope
i so hope they have sea of thieves 2
improved game mechanics
improved water
and more diverse biomes like a ice area n shit
Got it through PC game pass. The game looks pretty good, the art style is refreshing. Performance is great on my mid-range PC, too.
As for the game itself, it depends. The missions are quite repetitive: go to this island and either kill this boss (and his skelly minions) or dig up these treasures (defended by skellys). Combat is meh, you can only shoot and swing your sword. Not too much enemy variety.
The game's strength is when you can get a crew going together and you do missions as a team; the game also surprises you sometimes with sea monsters or pirate ships suddenly spawning in front of you and forcing you to fights. Playing against other player's ships is satisfying AF.
But the player base seems quite small; prepare to quit/join lobbies a bunch of times before you actually get people who will stick around and have mics.
All in all, fun experience if you can get it for cheap.
One of my favorite games of the generation. It's an absolute blast whether I'm going on comfy solo adventures or with a full crew. Sometimes I just go fishing and cook my catch to relax. It's great.
>trying to fish solo
>two faggot frenchmen try to sink you
>spend 10 minutes sailing about trying to think of a big brain play
>it works flawlessly
>you spawn kill them and spent the next hour reading broke english hate messages before reutrning to comfy solo fishing
Also the music and sound mixed with the lighting really reminds me of childhood summers at the seaside especially during the sunsets
seeth thread
They've added some streamlining stuff. Still need friends and want to bully kids to make it fun.
the music is probably one of the more comfy ost's i've heard. It's nice to see that rare still hires quality composers
Yes, but its a "only good with friends" game unless you like to suffer as a solo-sloop player; or god forbid you play in a randos crew. The progression is either cosmetics or more types of harder missions.
Still needs work, mainly in regards to the swordfighting. It's the best game around if you want great sailing atmosphere and mechanics. Solo slooping is difficult but doable (been doing it since the beta), but play with your mates for the best results.
>you like to suffer as a solo-sloop player;
This is the worst. I'll spend 2 hours just comfily sailing the sea, doing busy work, enjoying the quiet, maybe taking out a kraken or meg, evading player ships I see far out in the distnace, and then just when I least expect it, while digging up chests on an island, hear the booming of canons as a Galleon just demolishes my parked boat and a 4 member crew descends on the island to take me out.
I get that's the game, but I wish there was a solo only/sloop only queue.
they've been talking about solo servers for awhile
maybe they'll do it with the steam release and the boost in numbers
