Why is there a helicopter in the background?

Hey fuck you dude. You should’ve let me do it first, I was busy looking up the image which you didn’t even do you fag.

After everything you go through together in Peace Walker and MGSV, it feels weird that he just gets killed offscreen days before the game even begins in MGS1.

What a fool, falling for such a basic trick. I see Joe didn't teach you well enough.

I still don't forgive them for getting rid of her qt accent.

Damnit Liquid, I WANT ANSWERS! Who the HELL is Joe!

It makes sense that she would lose her accent years later though.

Joe Mama, brother dearest.

Yeah, that's kind of what happens when one does prequels. By the time MGS1 came out, Miller was just your old backup from MG2, there wasn't any past with him except that he was Snake's old drill instructor. Hell, he wasn't even blond originally, or had sunglasses glued to his face.

Does she even have it in Twin Snakes?

And what about Sigint and Paramedic ? And what about the whole mess with Liquid and Mantis in TPP. Every game made the previous ones feel weirder and weirder. Somehow, that's why the series is great and cringe at the same time.

Nope

Who cares?

People that like cute accents.

It's no use, Snake. He's speaking Sugondese.

The Big Boss games while entertaining really fucked up everything and turned it into a gay soap opera.

This is the original Kojimaverse. MGS2 is basically the culmination of everything he did prior.

Sigint becoming the DARPA Chief seems so weird in hindsight.

No I mean who cares about Twin Snakes

It was fine. Original's superior but Twin Snakes is still pretty good.

Actually based

MGS is better as a gay over the top soap opera

What order do you recommend playing the Metal Gear series?

It didn't make sense for her to have it in the first place since she was American born.

Why do people ask this retarded question? The answer is always release order.

So flamboyant vampires and Ocelot hypnotizing himself into thinking he's Liquid is fine but a little misplaced accent is too far?
Fuck you the accent was adorable and that's what's important.

Start with Metal Gear 2, the NES one. Then go to MGSV: Ground Zeroes and then Phantom Pain. This will give you a good idea of who Big Boss is and paint a picture for the entire series.
Then go on to play MGS 4. This will give you the big picture on how each character relates to each other and where their stories end up, giving you a better focus on the earlier entries in the series.
Then play Peace Walker. This gives you an idea of what kind of plans Big Boss wanted to put in place and what kind of character he is overall. MGSV does a poor job of showing you who Big Boss really is and Peace Walker accomplishes that.
Then play MGS3. Again, gives you an insight into who Snake is and what kind of soldier he is.
Playing MGS1 last (Because we are skipping MGS2 in this order because it sucks dick) finally paints the entire picture of the series by showing you the roots of where the legacy all began.
HOWEVER, you will need to replay MGS 4 to fully understand the overarching plot. The reason I say play it earlier is because I feel knowing the end of Kojima's vision for Snake gives you a better understanding of the previous games. You will not fully grasp MGS 4 on a first playthrough though, which is why you must replay it.

This is the optimal way to experience Metal Gear Solid.

It doesn't matter as long as you don't play 4 first. You'll be missing context for things for any game you start with unless you actually play in the order they came out with Metal Gear 1 and 2 first.

Genuinely wouldn't be surprised if Kojima wrote this post.
