What are your thoughts on Hollow Knight by Team Cherry?
Hollow Knight
good bosses
Pretty fun game. Not exactly the holy grail of the metroidvania genre and it didn't bring many ideas of its own to the table, but the ones it borrowed it did exceptionally well with.
Masters of paying shills. Reminder the words "hollow Knight" had to be filtered on the release day to stop the blatant marketing campaign. Fuck this game.
fantastic game, especially for its prize
locking an ending behind a 30-minute long boss rush will never stop making me seethe though
>two Aussie shitposters BTFO the entire industry
It's definitely one of the most impressive indie debuts of the past decade. Makes you wonder what the hell everybody else is doing sometimes.
its a nice game
bought it together with Ori after not playing 2d platformers in years and i was not disappointed by either
It's fun, the fan art is adorable, and The shit with rain world is good
>Reminder the words "hollow Knight" had to be filtered on the release day to stop the blatant marketing campaign
proofs?
>good game comes out
>NO PLEASE STOP TALKING ABOUT IT I'M BEGGING YOU ANYTHING BUT VIDEO GAMES AAAAHHHHH NIGGERMAN HELP ME
how big is your wojak folder
I was literally the only person on Zig Forums making threads about this game when it came out and it was very comfy. Don't make shit up.
Keep seething
2nd best metroid game after super metroid, amazing esthetics, music, atmosphere and a ridiculous amount of content for its price
could have done with better movement options but outside of that it's an easy 9/10
I think I don't want to keep run through Pantheon of the Sage over and over just to have my shit pushed in by this cocksucker.
I enjoyed Ori and the Blind Forest recently, is Hollow Knight as good as that?
Worse than Super Metroid, Zero Mission, Fusion, and AM2R.
Had it on my Switch for half a year, haven't played it yet.
And, all my 12-year-old game design students were ripping off the character designs for their shitty Construct 2 platformers.
Good game but incredibly fucking long. Was too lazy to try for the "true" ending
Art style is shit, it filtered me from not even trying the game out.
based and redpilled
t.
It's a pretty different kind of game. Hollow Knight is a lot bigger and has some cool boss fights. It's more about exploration than the platforming challenges that Ori has.
Hollow Knight is a really great game, don't get me wrong. Easy 7/10. But what I don't get is why everyone praises it like there aren't better metroidvanias out there. It's good, certainly not the best.
It's ok, but I still didn't finish it. No weapon variety made me lose interest
>worse than fusion
fuck no
There aren't.
what an absolutely pathetic lie
Does it not have as much platforming as Ori? I found some of them pretty tough, but they were fun.
I've been meaning to finish it now that the semester is over. I got near the end but left it on the backburner last Autumn.
Fucking Grimm though.
Then what is the best? SOTN and Super Metroid?
It's been over 23+ years they haven't aged very well outside of level design
Is a good game
Which ones are better and don't tell me SOTN because that would be wrong.
There's only two real platforming challenges, and one of those is hidden.
It's pretty much impossible to die to either, but the hidden one can be an absolute kick in the balls and there's no saving
I see, thanks. The platforming in Ori was probably about the limit of what I can really do, so if it's around that level then I can probably try it.
SOTN is better, just because you don't want to admit it doesn't mean it isn't. Super Metroid and Fusion are both better, as well. Bloodstained, too.
It's may already team cherry just give us something please
One of the best games ever made. People are often angry with the game because the game has very few true flaws, if any, and any criticism they have against it can usually just be dismissed with a "git gud" and it would actually make sense, because their impressions of the game always comes from them being bad at it or finding certain parts too confusing, or too different or difficult from other games in the genre that they personally liked so they can't find true appreciation for what the game intends to do. And the game was clearly designed with a very focused intent to make it exactly as it is right now.
pretty fun. did everything except godhome
Is anything missable in the game? Like endings and stuff?
I've yet to play a metroidvania with combat and bosses half as good as Hollow Knight's
You can miss an ending. It's best to do the final boss ASAP, then go back and unlock other endings, that way you don't miss it. Other than that nothing significant is missable.
