I made a donut.

I stopped because I realized no one will want to play my ero fetus/toddlercon interactive novel.

I've been following a tutorial online and I think I've really been learning how to code in Unity2D. I've been making notes beside the code so hopefully I'll be somewhat competent eventually.

is this TOO dickish?

I'm just making art face for my characters so it's a slow process because I can't draw fast

you're getting sued

It's not really dickish, just your relatively standard humor fare.

I like it. Good smug

I got lazier because of quarantine.

fair enough

I don't understand the question
Good luck with your game

basically, that dialogue exists solely to troll the player. I was just wondering if it would alienate people because it's at the very beginning of the game, but looking back that's a pretty dumb question for me to even ask

haven't opened visual studio for a month. I need to go back to work so i can slack off and work on my game

Good! I had some portraits for a character I made back in November that looked terrible, so spent a few hours replacing them all.
Then I made a little video today to show fellow RPGMaker chads

I always love seeing your game, user- did you change the character resolution recently, or is it just the webm?

Love the new environment, reminds me of Layton's London Life

>I always love seeing your game, user- did you change the character resolution recently, or is it just the webm?
Thanks so much! I'm pretty sure it's just the webm.

post donut

I was looking forward for the revival of /rpgmg/ but I didn't get to see any thread.

Portraits of a VN? looks good if you are going for a SNES style I think.

Oko? You still post here?

It's finished but it's shit

I've been playing a lot of retro shooters and was thinking of dusting off the build engine to try a proper survival horror style game in that engine. But then I realized the ai and pathfinding would make the actual gameplay abysmal.

show donut plz

I think we just have to take it upon ourselves to bring it back, but rpgm yesdevs moved to agdg when the general was sinking.
We really have the deepest lore.

Going for a bit older than SNES overall, but not being too strict, either, if I can keep a portrait at around 24 colours I'm happy.
The portraits are for cutscenes with the romanceable girls

Sometimes yeah, mostly just read Zig Forums and /vr/ on my phone these days, lurking here and checking out other user games is really comfy

I see, since you aren't being too strict it still looks fine, my OCD would get in the way if I had to take the "console's" limitations into account every time.

Lateshifter is absolutely based and I'm looking forward to Starknave, gonna check it out later down the road. I tend to avoid earlier builds of games so I don't feel burnt out by playing incremental builds over the years.
Just wanted to take this chance to let you know you've been an inspiration to turn me from nodev to yesdev, I've been taking classes on 3ds max and unity. Unfortunately what I've learned most is how much I don't want to use either of them...
Sticking to rpgm for now, hopefully one of these days I'll be posting screenshots of my own.

Been working on the design doc so not much visual progress, but I made a new camera system that seems to be working well.

Yeah, I feel the same way. Rule of cool / spirit of the law all the way. I started out wanting to get the feeling of Amiga games and the graphics in those varied wildly, even got mixelly at times, so I'm not being too purist about it.

Still waiting on that donut.

Thanks so much dude- I don't like early access shit, either, which is why it's been about 18 months since I released anything (nothing since an initial 'would you play this? y/n' demo), but it shouldn't be much longer now, just some animation and sound work to finish up.
What kinda game is it? If you have a blog or anything, I'd love to bookmark and check in.

Not very funny. Aside from that, not dickish either.

>draw characters for fun all the time
>decide to draw characters for a purpose, in this case a game
>can't draw
Fuck me!

post art, I need an artist.
I'll be happy to tell you which engine after I see.

It's alright, I recently realize why is important to have people around to share progress with, you can easily lose direction when you are working by yourself and don't have external input, shame public places are filled with insane people.

Worked on walk animations for this yellow faggot. It looks fine. Thanks for telling me it looks like shit.

Attached: mech_walk_test_02.gif (280x280, 45.42K)

I'm the exact opposite. I need a clear reason to draw anything, then it'll be good. If I'm just doing it for "fun", it ends up looking like ass.

The torso not following the up-and-down bob expected of a walking cycle and just staying in place makes it look extremely stilted. It looks good as a still image though.

I feel your pain

He is not falling.

All it really needs is a head bob-like motion, user. It looks weird with the top half being motionless

unironiclaly looks fun

this looks awesome

Is anyone here working on a 3D game/making models in Blender? Post inspiration plz.

Looks a bit odd how one foot raises the exact second the other foot touches the ground, especially with no head/torso bobbing.

Make it so there's more frames of the legs raising and less of the legs falling
Give it a sense of weight
Also make the body bob as the other anons have said

OH LAWD, HE COMIN'

Attached: 15890540231582.gif (280x280, 47.62K)

Yeah. I only tested leg animation. It looks like walking legs. Torso is still because i just wanted to see if it looks realistic or not. You are right. For some reason i made him walk backward when i created frames.

I will try to move his body up and down tommorow.

Damn nigga you are fast. Looks much better. Thanks.
