Are the Dragon Age games good?

Origins is perfect and then they decided to change things that didn't need to be changed in the sequels.

Seeing this thread makes me realize how forgotten these games already are. And for good reason.

The first one's great. The second one's a repetitive mess with a fun premise and some charming characters. The third one's a singleplayer MMO with good ideas and pretty environments bogged down by countless hours of bland fetch-quests.

Of course they are. Any game in which a man like Cullen with his perfect fuckable ass is present is a good game.

not really unless you want to micromanage 3 mages because the ai for mages is horrible and magic is infinitely better than melee to the point where melee is actually just useless

Correct, too generous if anything. DAO outstays its welcome pretty hard, the origins themselves are good and the ending is alright but the midgame is interminable

I liked the first one. I don't know about the others since they are not on steam and so I have not played them.

I remember fighting the dragon in the swamp as part of Morrigans affection quest line, or whatever, and the dragon wiped my party instantly, so I took control over Morrigan and just ran around spamming some fireball spell and kept running in a circle and the retarded thing couldn't hurt me

exactly who are supposed to be the "charming" characters? isabella is a whore, merrill is mentally ill (but at least he's waifu material) and basically everyone else has the charisma of an ameba

1 is pretty good
2 is a trashfire from what I've heard
And Inquisition would be fun, if you didn't spend 80% of the game running around doing scavenger hunts and getting sent to god knows where doing menial labour and 20% of the game actually doing the actually important and interesting story/side missions.

Varric's a bro, Merrill's a ditz but she's cute and show's that blood-magic isn't black and white, Avenline and Hawke's siblings are alright, Isabella has a decent redemption arc depending on your choices, and the Arishok is great.

No, play Divinity: Original Sin instead.

The only ones I didn't really like were Fenris and Anders because there were so few opportunities to call them out on their hypocrisy in the end.

But at least you could shank Anders when he goes full terrorist on you.

Origins is a true RPG but the rest are dumbed down

Varric, Aveline and Fenris

first one is great

second is too much copy-paste

third one is more open world but story/character-wise not nearly as good as the first one
