Afterburner after a corner is the most realistic answer I can give you
Asher Rivera
Depends on the ship and the track
Gavin Morgan
I have no idea if it's correct or not but I like to burn when I hit a boostpad.
Alexander Allen
Afterburner on final straight, get plinked by a cannon at 1 hp and die
Ethan Foster
How are the controls with other games like say Redout? Are more floaty?
Joseph Adams
Redout doesn't have steering controls
Chase Jackson
What the hell, why? Even if you had no idea surely you can piece together that your ship has a speed cap and you're just using up afterburner inefficiently. Right at the very start of the race with the speed boost you can use afterburner to put some distance between you and your opponents as to not get hit by stray rockets, or save it to exit a hairpin at high speed like 650 over getting out of it at 300. Always easier to maintain top speed than getting to top speed.
Juan Peterson
way more sharp i dont think you can get more floaty than redout
Levi Brooks
It makes me feel faster, I'm not very smart.
Jason Peterson
protip: doing anything by feel in a videogame, something that is entirely by design smoke and mirrors, is a Bad Idea if your end goal is proficiency.
