Just finished Remake, what was everyone getting upset over?
I thought it was good and the ending was interesting as cliff hanger to see where they go from here
seeing zack actually fight off all the shrina troops and making out alive made me so happy to see

this game was fun and don't really see a lot of faults story wise with what they brought with remake

I agree

Don-t get too happy for Zack, as shown by the different dog race being on the paper that flies in front of the camera, that-s an alternate timeline Zack that won-t necessarily meet with the main one

I beat it last night and loved it OP. The leaks made it seem like a clusterfuck to the peabrains here, but they were actually the reason I got interested in the remake. Killing the embodiment of fate was cool.

I am personally excited to see where this goes but whatever happens it came at the cost of a 1:1 remake

>implying Nomura isnt building towards 13 Sephiroths vs 7 Clouds

1:1 remake is a dumb idea anyway, which is why sony never did it despite 15 years of fans begging

Final Fantasy fans are retarded OP don't bother discussing it with them. It's a shame because the games are usually fun.

Yup the game was amazing.
The only fault is that we are only getting a part of the full product.
Yet there is also no plans for any proper DLC. They could've easily done some "VR" missions for RED XIII so he could be usable at least in some capacity.

I dislike the idea that its the not full game as well but at least there is a bright side
there were a lot of things mechanically speaking that I didn't like that I hope they will improve upon in the next installment
>forced slow walking segments that you can't skip
>prompt for interacting with shops and levers is a bit finicky
>enemies are more so annoying to deal with rather than actually being a challenge
>game has random moments of being really easy or really hard
there is plenty of room for improvement

>YEAR EXCLUSIVE
>CANT RELEASE PART 2 BECAUSE YOU NEED TO SELL FOR XBOX AND PC FOR A WIHLE
>OPEN WORLD IS GOING TO FUCK THEM UP
>STUPID OUT OF TOUCH MANAGEMENT

awww shit here we go again.

We get it, you make this thread everyday. No one cares anymore.

I agree with you, the seething caught me by surprise.

So are the main cast user. Remember the portal that they couldn't return from that delivered them into a 'mirror' Midgar that looked the same, before they all got sucked up into the purple energy storm and 'otherworld'? I'm honestly surprised at how many people missed the implication.

They could not have done more to pervert the theming and emotion of the story they were telling. That's why I dislike it.

The seething is literally shills from other games gathering whatever negative talking points they find and amplifying them

>OPEN WORLD IS GOING TO FUCK THEM UP

they should just do it FF12 style. Easier to keep a high level of detail and doesn't fall into the kind of trap open world design falls into where everything feels empty and timewastey

I personally didn't like the meta narrative spin with the Time Jannies that was added to the story. FF7 was never about fighting literal Destiny/Fate and a time traveling Sephiroth from the OG trying to change events in another timeline so he wins.
I can see what Nomura and the team are going for with that ending and what it means metaphorically, but with recent interviews on where they want to take the story, it's so goddamn literal, comes off very hamfisted and fanfic-tier. I can see the message saying things won't be EXACTLY the same in the Remake, like using the grappling hooks instead of climbing a cable to the Shinra building, Tifa and Cloud on monster clean up duty and the whole Honey Bee Inn dance sequence, but it's now about having to figure out whether or not the visions they saw will come true or not.

Kitase's for shoving Sephiroth often was and the story being different were "Well EVERYBODY knows Sephiroth and that Aerith dies! Why not just go balls out!" Which is ridiculous. I know a handful of normalfags that haven't played and/or don't know the story of 7 as well as FF fans that have never touched 7. There is nothing wrong with 7's story to where it needed such a drastic revisionary change.

you know i bet ps5 is going to fuck the over as well part 1 and part 2 are going to take forever then 3 and 4 will be shit out because of the new pacific war.

>he fell for the FF7 is open world meme

ps5 will solve basically all the problems i have with part 1. poor texture streaming, forced squeeze throughs to conceal loading, long load times if you die, etc. It really feels constrained by the ps4 hardware

This would be funny if it wasn't so hard to read.

>comes out hamfisted
very true a bunch of lets player from a wide variety of backgrounds were wtfing the ghost jannies and saying this has no subtlety with all the sephiroth shit.

they really are hacks with no filter.

s-sorry

...

*Kitase's reasoning for showing Sephiroth so often and the story being different were

yeah im sure they will fail just like they did with modernizing the combat

The main problems with the story are more for the new players who know next to nothing about the original.
The ghosts are fucking stupid too because time travel in stories is always just flawed logic 95% of the time.

The only ones complaining are the purists reeeeing about no remaster. Fuck them and let them stew in their own misery, the game was great

I'd also like to add that despite the Time Jannies, I love the game. The main cast (especially Aerith) is so fucking well done it's kind of spoiled me when going back and playing the original due to the so-so English translation. They finally got Cloud right after so many years with his meshed AC persona in spin-offs and I've grown to liking his new VA.

I hated the ridiculous power escalation.
Cloud flying through the air and cutting through literal buildings like butter was the peak of Nomura retardation.
He was just a very good soldier before that, but right at the end he turns into a super saiyan.

Fuck off with your purist meme. I enjoyed the remake, hated the ending, the ghosts, and preferred the original story. Since I don't like were the story is going and the gameplay was fun but not super great, I'm just gonna skip FF7 revolution or whatever they call it.

What I hated about the story isn't so much the end but how all the new content felt out of place and led nowhere, from the bike guy to the pizza at Jessie's place to the Corneo henchman. It brought nothing to the story and the game was certainly long enough without it.

The design of new characters also didn't really match the tone of the game, look at Chadley, even in the Shinra HQ nobody dresses like that, he looks straight out of FFXIII-2.

Right after the second sewer dive where you chase Corneo I was about to quit the game because it felt so boring. I'm glad I didn't because the last chapters were an absolute roller coaster and redeemed the game completely, what a fucking ride.
