If the new control scheme is easy as hell to use, it doesn't matter.

Halos 1 and 3
>final boss is a driving minigame

Uncharted 4

Didn't Devil May Cry end with you doing something SHUMP-like shooting fireballs at Mundus as a Super Sparda or something like that?

can you count rayman 3?

yeah and the remaster completely botches the visuals for it so it doesn't make sense.

yea the first half of the fight was like that. Second half of the fight was a bit like regular gameplay but with horrible platforming parts to ruin your day into the mix.
It's quite honestly one of the worst boss fights of the series and only the highest form of kamiya purists defend it

Dying Light. Twice. While making all of the player's skill tree and gear obsolete along with it.

Very stupid design. Most games fuck up with their final. Either some cliffhanger, stupid ending, minions on the way to the final boss being harder than the final boss or this. I wish they'd just keep one simple rule as design philosphy: it should still be fun to play.

What? The final boss was entirely sky battles.

Condemned 2. Two thirds is all melee combat and the last third is a FPS, you have this voice power and the final boss is essentially a QTE.

risen, devil may cry, bioshock.

Beat me to it. Fuck that guy and his pink laser spam.

With the Grolgoth, you can count Rayman 2.

It's funny how a fight between two old men who had no real reason to fight (seeing as they both shared a mission that had already been accomplished) manages to be so kino.

Any fight between literally life long enemies is typically kino. Liquid and Solid and pitted against eachother since birth.
Fucking epilogue ruined it with Ocelot just larping as Liquid the whole time
MGS2 ended with the HF blade that you used for less than an hour of gameplay if that counts

>That file name

Even if someone doesn't like the final fight of MGS4, I don't see how it even remotely qualifies for being one of the worst in videogames.

>Fucking epilogue ruined it with Ocelot just larping as Liquid the whole time

I like to think of it as Ocelot having really been possessed by Liquid in MGS2, but then had the arm removed and underwent the brainwashing to stay as Liquid consistantly instead of whenever Liquid managed to posesss him to keep the act going indefinitely.

Still a lame retcon though. Unnecessary, too, given that they went out of their way to have Ocelot's dad be a psychic who can communicate with and see ghosts.

Sold and Liquid weren't life-long enemies you retard they met one time

Eva tells you that way before the epilogue in chapter 3. Ocelot is the ruse cruise master. This is confirmed in literally every game.

kojima should've just revived liquid somehow instead of the retarded "ocelot is possessed by liquid actually he isn't." dumber asspulls have happened in the series anyway

If you take away the context, two naked old men beating each other up is pretty lame in a series that usually has you fighting giant robots.

Ocelot larping as Liquid is less ridiculous than Liquid possessing Ocelot after he got an arm transplant.

>Fucking epilogue ruined it with Ocelot just larping as Liquid the whole time
Yup. It's funny that one group of people tends to call Kojima a genius, others call him a hack. But it's particularly bizarre that there are many aspects about him that are really shit, while other things are absolutely incredible. He's just too idiosyncratic to fit any specific category.

MGS4 for example is more than fucking decade old and these animations and choreography still look great, and the cutscenes very well directed, more so than many modern games. The final boss finishes with a really jank combat system that didn't even need to exist in the first place has tons of soul.

I hate when games do this. RDR2 does it constantly and it just feels like a glorified cutscene.

does Dead Rising becoming a Rail Shooter just before the final boss count?
