Hardest difficulty is broken and you can't change it mid game. You fucked up. In the normal / hard difficulty the combat is amazing though.

I'm into Sony games but I played like 4 hours of this and cannot find the motivation to keep going. It's fucking boring, like Uncharted with way more filler garbage inbetween the big setpieces. I'm not even sure why they thought adding RPG mechanics was a good idea either since it just gates all the stuff that makes combat dynamic.
Should I keep going? I wasn't into the older God of Wars either.
