"There's no such things as perfect games you fucking faggo-"
I love RE4 but the island alone makes in objectively an imperfect game
I'm not saying RE4 is a bad game, but it's the reason why RE trailed off from horror.
the island ruins sections are some of the best part of the game
island>village>castle
I like RE4 as much as anyone, but it has some flaws.
>A third of the weapons are basically inferior to your other options
>Salazar boss fight
>Island section
>Forcing you to use a sniper rifle at certain points, but not providing you with a sniper rifle for free
The World Ends With You exists. RE4's great but not perfect, it definitely has some "that part" moments.
Is RE5 your favorite RE?
No, i actually dislike RE5/RE6 and don't even really consider RE4 all that amazing, that being said, i liked the atmosphere of many parts of the island... especially the regenerator sections.
>the water room
>the sewers
>the mines
>the island
9.5/10
Interesting. The quieter parts of the castle are definitely underrated but it's known to go pretty gung-ho too.
Sewers are one of the better parts of the game though, a rare instance of an attempt to convey the tension of the earlier games.
got filtered by the water room, I see
it's just a personal thing I thought it was cool first time around but every play through afterwards I just dreaded going through it.
So I actually just played through and beat RE4 in a pretty short amount of time, like 3-4 sittings, this week. Haven't played the game since the Wii version came out.
Honestly, the island sections are not nearly as bad as I remember. There are definitely a handful of rooms that are annoying, but the same can be said about the castle. But moments like introducing the regenerators and Krauser fight are more than enough to keep the section afloat. And it also does not last nearly as long as I remember, you can breeze through that last island chunk in 2-3 hours if you know what you're doing.
Water room fucking sucks, user. It's doable, just not fun.

So how would you make the island section better? Less enemies? No chaingun dudes or mad max dudes? Better atmosphere?
I think more weird experiments and less military enemies would have been cool.
>Need to use a sniper rifle
Use the Red9 to blast the locks off of Ashley. You're a god damn agent of the US government, you pussy.
And if you bring up regenerators just shotgun them like a SWAT team in a minor domestic violence dispute call.
And user had no counterarguments because there were none to give.
5 > 6 > 4
More creepy interior sections, less dudebro shooter bits.
This but the complete opposite.
Dead Space is better
unironically this
I hate this fucking tranny-tier opinion
>2-3 hours
That's the game's length if you know what you're doing, not the island's.
Why do people hate the island so much? The castle is the chapter that drags the game down more than anything. Island flows faster, has one of the best sections with the Regenerators, Krauser. The island has cringey chanting losers and puts you in obnoxious sections where you have to protect Ashley. When you get to Verdugo is where it gets fun again, but thats not really the castle.
>certain points
like?
The boat escape sequence ruins the finale. It should have ended with the final boss fight.
Castle was the best, faglord. Creepiest part of the entire game, the way enemies would slowly stroll towards you wielding their weapons and shields, chanting. Fucking kino.
>Hmm how do I fit in and be a contrarian today? There, I found it.

You can beat the game with a pistol only.
>fitting in
A large portion of Zig Forums has a very hivemind like mentality so having a vastly different opinion is the opposite of that. Now, if you're used to being part of the hivemind thats on you.
Water room is maximum fun.
The island was the least atmospheric, which the first two sections were saturated with. I understand the game was reaching its climax but the tone of the game was drastically changed from horror-themed and oppressive to full-on action military shooter
I felt that the sewers and mines were fine. Water room was really tough the first couple of tries, but also memorable. All you have to say is 'water room' and anyone that's played it knows what you're talking about.
The island had its moments. It felt too rushed, should have been slower paced at the beginning and middle. The times when it slowed down like the labs and the jail section is when it shined.
>linear third person shooter
>perfect game
Why do console faggots have such terrible taste in video games?
>but the tone of the game was drastically changed from horror-themed
Very little of RE4 is horror themed the most horrific elements being past the castle and on the island when you get to the sewer section. And even past Verdugo you get to a point where you outrun a mechanical 50foot midget of a Spaniard dressed in 1700s garb.
>I don’t like this genre, therefore the game CANNOT be executed perfectly.
I think RE4 is far from perfect, but your mindset is very short sighted. I’m too much of a brainlet so I don’t enjoy fast-paced puzzle games, but Tetris is absolutely flawless.
