Get more disk space

Because as opposed to offering 4k and other hi res textures/models as a separate download, you have to download it all even if you won't/can't use it.
Plus uncompressed audio and fmvs. Enjoy.

ik, it's nuts. i've only got one of those mini levels left on sapienza left to complete, need to get it done with so i can uninstall the damn thing

hitman 2 actually has an excuse because the previous game is within the sequel

2 full games

this, hard to compress shit further when everyone wants extremely high quality textures

Next-gen

oh wow, what a bunch of retards

2 huge games in 1
and you can install each location individually

152985000000 Bytes of garbage. Install Blood Money instead.

It's not even that, they can have those hi res textures, but why force them in the main game download? Just make it a free dlc like skyrim did for a long time. Cut out like 20gb that most people wouldn't ever use.
Fuckin retarded.

babies first hitman

Retard, there's 1024 bytes in a kilobyte, not 1000.

"""""8k"""" textures and uncompressed voices for 20 different languages.
Since you know, in the year 2020 it's absolutely impossible for languages and higher quality textures to be a separate downloads.
Especially on Steam where you could just split them into separate DLCs.

do you think compression will be a thing again next gen since next gen consoles will have SSD's and decent cpu's for once that can decompress on the fly unlike current gens trash cpu's?

metric system strikes again

Just download each level individually as you play

If the rumours about 1tb default storage are true I think we'll probably see a lot of 100gb games. On consoles it's a game of trying to keep your games on people's drives, while balancing using up more space so they play other games less, and yours more.

It'll have to be, with the tiny fucking amount of space they have.

the average person doesn't play 30 games all at once.

Don't forget every mission is it's own level. So if you have 2 missions taking place at same place you now have 2 packages with same size due to bloat.

They don't, but there won't be 30, there'll be 10 at most. Do you think it's a coincidence call of duty keeps updating with 30+gb patches? It literally takes up 2/5 the entire default ps4 hdd right now.

I think devs just don't have faith in their consumers. In fear that normies can't figure out how to download a separate language pack they just cram everything in one package.

Blame the muh 4k autists

Why are most jap games still around 30 gigs? Sekiro, DMCV, RE2 are like 30 gb. Only exception I can think of is FFXV which is over a 100 gigs.

because they have no content
pokemon swsh was 10.6gb
animal crossing is 6.9gb even with all the updates

Devs used to know how to do compression.

no or barely any pre rendered shit. FFXV is full of it so it's the exception.

>Install 2 games
>Surprised when the filesize is big

Have you met the average video game player? The Master Chief Collection makes use of this system and I had a bunch of my normalfag friends go into a state of confusion because they couldn't find every single Halo on their Steam Libraries. I still catch glimpses of people bitching about the Darkest Dungeon Musketeer even though you can just enable her for free in the DLC manager. I'm sure that if you included the DLC manager in the first install menu as a way to stop this retardation from happening people would still find a way to fuck it up, people want all the convenience without considering the costs, which probably barely affects them anyways.

You'd think one of the big devs could talk to Steam and ask them to incorporate some feature like that.
Like if simply selecting a language from the ingame menu could start a download, and that it'd download English and whatever you have as your Steam language automatically. Something like that.
It shouldn't be impossible, and would be an increasingly welcome feature.

Sekiro has barely any FMVs. DMC5 and RE2's cutscenes are all in the RE engine.

you can get a 500gb ssd for less than what the game cost new

>Like if simply selecting a language from the ingame menu could start a download
The Master Chief Collection already has something similar to this where you can select which game you can get in-game and Steam will start downloading it. I imagine the excuse not to implement this for languages is that "finishing" a game download just to start more downloads in-game would upset players.

no you can't

>call of dooty battle royale 100 gb
>hitman 150gb
>half space taken in 2 games

lol

>Install Hitman 1 levels, can also just select levels you want to play
>Now way less space taken
Stop being retarded.

You're retard, user. But I appreciate the laugh.
