A whole fucking game out of midgar

>a whole fucking game out of midgar
>the entire fucking duration of vanilla FF7 just for midgar
Holy fucking PADDING
So is FF7R gonna become some sort of 200 hour mega adventure now? How the fuck are they even gonna pace this shit?

it's like 30 hour game. if it's too long for you then don't play it

>So is FF7R gonna become some sort of 200 hour mega adventure now?
ATAGT

no retard, Nomura and SE cashed out on you, you literally paid 60 dollars for the padded out tutorial level of the original.

i haven't bought it because i only like ff9. but it's full game from what i've heard.

The original game was always short as hell but everyone's memories made it seem much longer and they basically want to capture that same feeling here.

>but it's full game from what i've heard
Yeah it is a full game, but its literally just the Midgar section of FF7.

They dont know yet, planning has just started lool

>tfw Nomura and Square finnessed in on all nostalgiafags and dipped

Episodes with each episode being a full game of its own

>alternate timelines
>Zack is alive and you're going to be swapping between timelines like KH

I was so onboard with the remake until the last fucking hour and all my hype for any future remakes flushed down the toilet.

So thats like, 5 games then to cover all of FF7 if you turn each freaking section into its own game
Imagine if they make a whole fucking game of just Cloud remembering the Nibelheim incident.

>$59,99 for 25% of a 20 year old game
Yikes, thanks for beta testing, please inform me when they released the full game.

Will try out when all the parts come out. Will be playing excellent JRPG series instead like Ys

Each episode needs dramatic arc and Midgar had one so one episode covering just the Midgar part is logical. I'd imagine parts being something like

Part 2 Kalm-Nibelheim
Part 3 Nibelheim-Weapons awakening
Part 4 The rest

Biggest challenge would be with differing locations and needing their own assets. Most likely not open world. I hope for battle arena style challenges that can be accessed during any part of the game.

I doubt we'll get the car or airship. Most likely every traversal of the world will take part in a cutscene.

I gotta admit i'm loving it but knowing it will be released in parts like this feels a little sad for some reason. I never finished the original, think I got to the middle of the second disc.

There's nothing stopping you from picking it up

>Part 2 Kalm-Nibelheim
ok
>Part 3 Nibelheim-Weapons awakening
no, it should be NIbelheim-Forbidden Capital culminating with Aeris's death. Or not, depending on how hacky Nomura is feeling that day
Part 4 - Snowboarding-Cloud coming out of his coma
Part 5 - the rest
Some events in part 4 and 5 might need to be shuffled to keep the length of both parts equal

I could but this is fine, I know the original story and all. I just feel like the Remake is so fun but all for a part of the game. Was there no way to release it all at once or were they attempting to gauge audience reaction?

>Was there no way to release it all at once
of course there was, but why would they do that if they can sell it to you in parts and get thrice the money?

How long is this one anyway? I felt kinda weird paying full price for what is only a chunk of an entire game that came out decades ago.

Making nowadays AAA production value version of the og with voice acting would be a huge risk and investment. Doing it episodic gives money and clear section of the og to tackle instead of worrying about nailing it all in one go.

about 40 hours

Eh, that's no so bad I guess.

Any reason your dumbass needed to make 2 threads around the same time, with the same image?

will there be full game for the chocobo and arcade sections?

I clocked the main story in 40 hours with lotsa grinding and doing all available side quests. After completing the main story there's hard mode and battle simulator challenges + extra scenes and dresses, so 100% would take at least 60h

To milk the game for 10 years.

I'm at 43 hours and on chapter 14 but have been going really leisurely, beaten all mini games and have grinded a fair bit at the colosseum.

Strange because my initial playthrough of FF7 was like 52 hours. I have no idea how by the end of FF7R I'll have spent almost as much time.
Only thing I can really say is by spending more time with TIfa and Aerith the decision on who I like better has just been made more difficult.

Would you rather have waited another decade and paid 200 for it to come out as the whole thing instead? Are were you deluded enough to think youd get the entire game remade at the same quality as what we got for 60?

Fuck chapter 14. Delete that shit

Is it possible to change characters costumes whenever you want? I want to stick em in dresses for fun. I only just started it and I just finished Jessie's parents house and that fight with the sword sexual Soldier on the bike.

Tbh, Midgard is among the best parts of the game. Rest is mostly hours of mindless grinding punctuated by short moments of story. Which was fine, but i doubt it can be adapted in this new version. Unless they create an insane amount of side quests to limit the repetitive aspect.

I'm no expert on the original but what the hell is with these time ghosts? Are they really doing an alternate timeline?

No, the dresses are only for the Wall Market sequence. There have been save modifiers having modded the dresses to other cutscenes and field models, but characters cant battle out of their normal clothes

>Rest is mostly hours of mindless grinding punctuated by short moments of story.
Completely wrong.

They will either end up releasing four or five games which I doubt they will or they will have areas cut from the original

The entire game feels like a FF7 mod for XV. Did the same team make it?

Aw shucks, well whatever. I like their regular gear and I find it kind of nostalgic that outside of weapons the gear doesn't change their looks.

Time Jannies are Planet security system like Weapons. Planet knows its future and wants to make sure everything happens like in og so it can survive the meteor. Player defeats the time jannies at the end leaving the next parts doing their own thing. Time Jannies also represent obsessive fans REEEing over smallest of changes to og

So can we save Jessie and the rest? Please god tell me we can.

Was any of the extra content past chapter 1 and 2 even worth it? It’s just boring hallways in boring environments the video game. The only strong addition was the extra interaction with Tifa and the gang in the beginning, and Aerith later if you’re into her. None of the fights are fun or challenging except for some of the bosses. Side quests were awful too.

It seems we might because Biggs's alive at the end at Zack survived too. Jessie was given connection to Gold Saucer theatre so it might pay off

I know it's a bit sacrilegious but I hope we can save Aerith.

For starters let me say that I haven't played VII:R; what I actually wanted out of the/a remake of FF7 was something akin to recent Trials of Mana, where it's basically a 1:1 reproduction with prettied-up graphics and maybe some nice new gameplay integrations (but not a complete overhaul)- however Square Enix seems to think this game needs to be remade to the graphical standard a modern AAA title with all the trappings and festoonment.
To me that's fucking insane and I don't think anyone asked for it to be that way, but okay. And so because of this truly grand undertaking each individual section of the game requires further development because what was previously a fly-by prerendered screen now needs to potentially be a fully interactive 3D zone with unique assets and new models/enemies/NPCs/questgivers.

Insofar as the content doesn't wear thin and remains enjoyable I'd argue it's more akin to "fleshing out" rather than "padding".
Either way I'm not against this, I've got nothing but time, it just seems excessive. My only concern is- if each title is $60, and the first only covers Midgar (assuming I don't die before the series is finished), how much am I expected to spend for the complete story?

Also it's a legit concern at this point whether this is going to span multiple console generations. I was going to wait for the PS5 because I heard the environmental texturework is a tad shoddy and figured they'd probably pretty it up for the double-dippers, but is a theoretical "FFVII: Remake Complete Edition" something that will only exist on the PS7?

When i think about it. They made so much money off this stupid fucking game. Trash abortion of my childhood game. Thinng sucked. Reno, why is is chest all out like an obvious faggot? Wasn't he suppose to bring down the plate? No? Why? Nomura: He good sexy comic relief. hur hur we need more cosplay when corona goes away.

Sorry, i'm drunk and upset at this awful shit game. This ain't a remake shills, stop saying it is.

Zack Schider's Dawn of the dead was a remake
The recent "IT" was a remake
RE1gamecube and RE2re were remakees
FF7 remake's name was a marketing ploy to get me to buy the game

Time janitor niggas destroy any serious consequences and themes that made the original what it was.

Can't wait to buy the deluxe edition of season 2 of FF7remake; fort condor edition (cause that's where the game will end).

Fuck them. Just, fuck em.

Why does this game make Zig Forums so angry?
