At least D2 is much more independent from battle.net than W3, so even if they fuck it up not many people will care because they are already either playing the game on some private server, modded and on private dedicated server for that mod (Median, PoD), or just play single player pluggy.

That's a pretty shitty excuse, considering the modding community managed to reverse engineer so much of it. With the millions they have it would be trivial to redo a 3d engine and inject back all the *.mpk in it.

D2 on bnet is a waste of time anyway, and outside of bnet you can just mod resolution.

They only have diversity hires, no passion or skill. They could however discuss how several classes are problematic.

It did, but a lot of things are still pretty fucked.

It got a bunch of patches at the start with promises of more on the way then it started to slow down drastically, then corona virus happened and now that is their excuse for not having really done many patches in like 4 months.

No. I'm past Diablo 2. I loved it as an adolescent but if I want my Diablo-style fix I just play Path of Exile. It is essentially a modern Diablo 2 with new content constantly being haphazardly added to the game. Diablo 2 has a fantastic art style, story, music, and atmosphere but I don't feel like doing any more Baal or Mephisto runs.

I highly doubt PoE2 is coming out this year. I would be impressed if it did. Maybe a beta or something but I dunno.

PoE is actually nothing like Diablo 2, it's a soulless 1 button screen clear simulator. PoE is more like Median XL than D2.

People won't care unless they do it like the StarCraft Remaster. And of course they won't go that way since unlike in case of the former mentioned game, they don't have anything to loose with doing a DII remaster. So expect another Reforged situation and your copies forever shat on by their incompetence and Battle.net 2.0.
