>going public with a Nintendo fangame before its released
Why would you do that?

DMCA THIS MAN
Cooper Morgan
Because they don't care about people playing it at all, they don't want to deal with being sued. They made this so they COULD announce it early and get DCMA'd, that way they get all the attention, and no legal troubles and might get their work noticed by a real game studio that will hire them, thats the ONLY reason these things are ever made. It's why they all deliberately get DCMA'd before release but you get to see what they made.
William Gray
>Chansey's Meds
Best name they could come up with?
John Rogers
Because you're too lazy to finish the game and you want a C&D as an excuse to abandon it.
Elijah Myers
>Attention whoring clout and e-fame
Like always.
Jayden Jones
Absolute nonsense. If you want to make a fangame as a portfolio piece there's a myriad of other companies that don't give a shit. Furthermore, you're not going to get sued for releasing a fangame, look at AM2R.
Evan Robinson
HIRE
Jaxson Rodriguez
>AM2R.
you mean the game that immediately got sued and the developer vanished, probably because of a NDA? great example
Aiden Cook
NINTENDO HIRE THIS MAN is a meme about shitty fangames, usually poorly optimized but "AYCH DEEEEEEEEEE", not good ones.
Charles Green
THIS
Gavin Ward
They didn't get sued, they got C&D right after releasing 1.0 (despite the game known about for years), and they continued working on it after 1.0 without issue.
Elijah Sullivan

Why does she have a burger on her head?
Justin Mitchell
Inferior to SAGE
And neither are ever coming out.
Lincoln Lewis
What game is this?
Logan Cox
Reminder that multiple pokemon mods have generated lots of hype claiming they received a DCMA well before they actually were on Nintendo's radar because it generates an insane amount of publicity for no effort.
Christopher Torres
is this soul?
Michael Jenkins
>slowdown on the stairs
No, it's fucking annoying
Wyatt Torres
nintendo could unironicly just do the megaman 9 and 10 thing with some of their franchises and people would eat it up, ez money
Anthony Watson
Its just pretty sprites, these fan games dont touch pokemons shit stained combat
Jordan Johnson
Why is that forest below sea level?
Isaiah Nguyen
>Inbuilt RPGMaker Jump movement route.
Woah this totally isn't some artist who's made a bunch of graphics in RPGMaker with no gameplay,
Ian Walker
Oh nice, illusory walls with no visually indication, the best indication that the person making the game is a complete dimwit.
Aiden Russell
why are you replying to yourself retard-kun?
Mason Bell
Zoomer here. Why does this look so fucking good!? I always thought soul was a meme. My brain hurts..
William Smith
Still in pre alpha
Kevin Watson
The only hackrom I saw being shutted down was Prism (and it proved it with the documents). It's the one who started the whole 'DMCA gives you popularity'
Nicholas Gutierrez
nope
Owen Thompson
>If you want to make a fangame as a portfolio piece there's a myriad of other companies that don't give a shit.
That is the point, they don't want to make a game, just enough to make people think they are making one before they get a DCMA.
Sebastian Gonzalez
>Zig Forums x
if you're gonna reply to yourself don't misspell the same fucking word twice retard-kun
Zachary Evans
>Still in pre alpha
Then why is the level design done and insignificant details like NPCs strewn about?
Cooper Moore
Pokemon Uranium was extremely guilty of this. Game was in development for 9 years, and Nintendo just "happened to care" right before the release.
Game looked lame but everyone was talking about it.
Christian Taylor
Ideas for how to make Pokemon’s combat better?
I got two:
Forced Double battles for most battles with ATB.
Or something more akin to MMBN/One Step From Eden, if you’re gonna keep it 1v1
>but muh Smogonshit
Yeah, that shit doesn’t fly for the majority of the campaign, and CAN’T. Most of the time you’ll still be spamming your strongest move against weak trainers and wild mons.
Landon Smith
this got 3000 followers in a day what the fuck
Chase Rogers
>Buy RPG Maker
>Make a Pokemon Knock Off
>Cry when you get told to shut it down
>Repeat
Some Fangames or ROMs have been decent, but normally its the same RPG Maker tier trash. Why is this a thing?
Wyatt Lewis
Of course soul isn't a meme. It just means a game was designed with a real vision in mind. Many games lack soul now because they're often copying what is popular at the moment. Like how almost every game is a post-apocalyptic pile of shit where every character has tattoos and mohawks.
Colton Rivera
Attention
Why else would you make a fangame
Blake Watson
The developer of AM2R not only didn't get sued, the whole debacle also kickstarted his career in game development. He's working with people behind the Ori games. That's why people like exist now.
Asher Jones
>implying that’s a bad thing
Let’s not kid ourselves and pretend Pokemon isn’t RPGMaker tier.
I don’t understand why they wouldn’t just make their own NOTPOKEMON with fakemon instead.
Jaxson Wood
Here is how to fix Pokemon:
>remember the kh1 ai for donald and goofy?
>now watch these two retard AIs fight other AIs while you jump around as the girl trainer to look at her panties
Thank me later
Jason Johnson
Passion?
Henry Bennett
It’s usually for “remakes” in unreal engine with asset flips that faggots say look better than anything Nintendo could do
Not fan games that use completely original content
Jaxon Nelson
>I don’t understand why they wouldn’t just make their own NOTPOKEMON with fakemon instead.
Because Pokémon's battle system isn't easy to make. Whereas sticking a bunch of sprites into RPGMaker and walking around is.
Bentley Flores
why bother investing time into something original when you can just make [popular thing people already know]
i clapped when i saw pokemon
i know pokemon
Ryan Hall
It's pokemon. Official pokemon gameplay is indistinguishable from inbuilt RPGmaker mechanics. What's the problem?
Dominic Campbell
Realistically, could Nintendo, Game Freak, or Creatures, Inc, do anything if one made a RPG Maker game, that plays just like a Pokemon game, but its called PockiMen, uses a PockiCapsule to capture them, and you collect Pins from Dojos, with 100% FakeMons? Could they try to shut it down via intimidation only, or would they be able to make a legal argument that its too heavily based on their IP?
Logan Sanchez
Coromon already exists and that hasn't been sued
Joseph Wilson
>Realistically, could Nintendo, Game Freak, or Creatures, Inc, do anything if one made a RPG Maker game, that plays just like a Pokemon game, but its called PockiMen, uses a PockiCapsule to capture them, and you collect Pins from Dojos, with 100% FakeMons.
Yes

FIRE THIS MAN
Alexander Bailey
This. The reason why it looks soulful isn't because muh pixel graphics but because it represents a return to the series' roots
Ryder Morales
People are only interested in this fangame because it uses real Pokemon. If it used fakemon, Nintendo won't care because no one else would.
Oliver Peterson
>Coromon
Isn't that some Chinese knock off that couldn't be shut down if they tried because China doesn't give a fuck about IPs?
And what exactly could they do?
Hmm, thats a good point.
Christopher Evans
>And what exactly could they do?
