Currently emulatan tools of destruction in rpcs3

>i9 9900k
>rtx2080

humble ranking of going commando weapons

>deadlocked in god tier
as it should be, deadlocked's more gritty aesthetic made it my favorite of the original games

Yes. After recently replaying most of the games including gc, uya, dl and tod, it baffles me how incredibly good the combat in deadlocked is compared to the others
The others are great, but dl is just among the best games ever in this manner

>going commando
>god tier
yeah..no

good
>introduced great combat
>tons of optional content, like arena battles, space combat and hoverbike races
>optional bosses
>introduced upgradable weapons
>rare bolts actually affected gameplay, encouraging exploration

bad
>some weapons were almost useless

Why did you use the shitty tools of destruction box art?

It was the guy making the template on tiermaker

I absolutely agree that clanks basedface is better

Bullshit. Tried emulating ToD and it ran like fucking shit.

9900k/RX580

was wondering what the fuck games these were
turns out they're the euro titles

Isn't the remake super soulless and gay

when did you try?

sounds really strange, promise you I ain't lying. Killzone 2 and MGS4 did run like actual shit or crash very fast though

I'm surprised ToD is that high.
I had fun with the new weapons and it plays solidly enough but damn is the game utterly forgettable, both the worlds and story are just very boring and unremarkable.

>shitty
How dare you?

yeah, but it's because it's follows the story of the movie, apart from the story it's pretty good

also it was low budget(40 bucks), even insomniac admitted this

>introduced great combat
More like >introduced non-clumsy strafing
And gold weapons were a thing in 1. It refined the concept but it didn't pioneer it.

Deadlocked is just pure dumb fun. I love it.

Here's an hour and a half video on why the remake is utter garbage.

>Tools of Destruction
>Not in mid tier
>A Crack in Time
>Not in high tier

I'm disgusted by your low standards

I had the same feeling, but then I replayed it with emulator recently and was pleasantly surprised

good
>only NEW weapons, most of them fun and innovative
>fun, albeit not very deep upgrading system
>quite a bit of exploration that was lacking in uya and deadlocked
>great story and lore
>graphics are still incredible if you upscale with rpcs3
>lots of great combat sections

bad
>shitty clank sections, probably the worst in the series
>space combat is hit and miss

the combat took a bit of down turn after deadlocked, but all of the great stuff from rac1 and gc returned

Tools is clearly better than the stuff in Mid Tier.
If only because half of Mid Tier is glorified Tools DLC.

did you change any settings?

for me it runs best with standard settings(except for upscale)

theres a lighting bug with 3 models that have mirrored lighting, but it's very minor and pretty much only seen in cutscenes

this guy mostly talk about the story, which follows the hollywood movie

useless video

>3d models

Tried it with all sorts of settings. Got like 20 FPS.

Upgradeable weapons gives an incentive to use a weapon to upgrade it. Then you have to learn to use the weapon. It's not the same as with weapon upgrades you buy, you might end up only using the same weapons in this case

it's important to turn off write color buffers for performance

really strange since we have the same cpu and it's not really gpu bottlenecked, at least unless you run 4k

only case it goes down to 20 fps for me is if I use the magma combuster, those flames on the ground really kills performance, also planet jasindu with the kerchu boss really killed perf, I think it's engine bottlenecked though

I honestly forgot about the ToD ship sections. They were okay, I guess, but making your ship and the aiming reticle move independently fundamentally misses the point of Star Fox gameplay as well as bosses being a bit tanky in general for how little a threat they are.

And if you're into ToD's whole story that's perfectly fine, but I personally wasn't a fan of the things it did to set Future apart from the earlier entries.
Dropping one-offs in favour of a recurring cast of characters to help the whole epic quest they were going for ends up making the individual worlds be much less memorable and lack character. Only worlds I can remember of the top of my head are the hot factory planet where you use the ball vehicle, the ice one with the pirate ship, the Lombax homeworld and that one city at the end of the game.
I don't mean to say that Ratchet can only do his anti-consumerism critique, but I felt the execution was pretty flawed.

Can you SS your settings?

Also 30fps, shitty weapons, and more.
