Frontier first encounters. It was 10,000% jank and generally regarded as the worst iteration of ELITE.
I loved it, I still love it even if every single system jump has a good 30% of resulting in instant death no matter how big or amazing your ship is because the other asshole has a plasma accelerator for some fucking reason.

I really liked the concept of running around a city with electricity based powers. Even after finishing the story and fully upgrading Cole I would just spend time running and climbing around the city blowing up cars and absorbing electricity from everywhere.

I actually reached max level 50 on the AC brotherhood multiplayer. I always played it after school and I found many exploits in this game.
If you remember the ability that temporarily turns you into another character, if you activated it just before someone stealth kills you, you will spawn in permanently as the character the ability changed you to so it’s near impossible for other player to find you
I have no idea if it was a known exploit but I used it a ton on ps3
