Name a game with more SOUL
Name a game with more SOUL
in terms of everything except the gameplay Alien Isolation is kino.
chromatic abreviation=/=soul
It's basically a turboautist's fan game given an AAA budget and team, it's great.
In this case it's literally to capture the exact look and feel of a 70's film, it's justified.
this is the only game that i didn't disable CA. it actually fits the atmosphere really well
I can't
I think I had to because of the TAA anti-aliasing injector mod
git gud
I can't. It's a love letter to the movie.
Any Nintendo game.
>2014 game
Graphics really have stagnated, haven't they
I've just finished the game and it doesn't "overstay it's welcome". You are just not supposed to croach all the time like a retard.
Let me help you.
if it's a stealth game then i'm crouching
Shit tier bait, OP.
It's pretty much a 2007 game as it was designed to run on the ps3/x360.
>Shills and/or idiots that haven't seen a 70's film
Has any game overcome this one visually? I remember Hunt: Showdown looking really good before they lowered the graphics through a patch.
Gonna play it with the untethered mod. Gonna watch Alien 1979 again too.
We may never get a sequel but can we at least get more horror games like this?
did you play it once without mods?
I played it 4 times without mods.
impressive, very nice
Never on hard though. I feel like it would be too stressful.
aww should have tried it
it is stressful but man what an intense experience
Maybe I will before I play it modded.
The fact that some people still quote the "overstays its welcome" from that fucking retard really pisses me off, the game was as long as it needed to be and I cant believe people want less game in the videogames.
Not played this yet and avoided any footage.
Should I do vanilla or vr mod first time around? Is it that replayable?
worth a shot, you should have a hang of the do and dont dos and the style of stealth required since you've already finished it
should I watch the movies before playing this?
>come across a group of human enemies
>throw a noise maker and hide
>the xenomorph comes in and clears the area for me
I doubt you would be able to handle it in VR going in blind since it requires clear thinking to actually progress from save point to save point. VR seems like it would be ridiculously tense and you would just be staring at the graphics and wall textures and being spooked by your own shadow.
Have you ever watched them before? If you haven't, what are you doing with your life? Go watch them.
This one is a prequel to the first movie, but some of the names wont mean anything to you unless you have seen the first and second movie.
don't you play as ripley's daughter?
Thanks to whoever linked that video to a nightmare no death run, watching the guy's play (up to where I had got to) helped to give me some ideas on how to play properly.
It does still feel like it's fairly down to RNG if the alien comes down when you're doing a thing, but at least I have a bit more idea of how to handle it.
I just got to engineering, any idea when I get my fucking guns back?
I recommend only watching Alien 1979 and you would be fine with watching it before or after
either way you get a same effect of "wow they copied that!?"
My bad, this happened between the first and the second movie.
yes, alien is 10/10 and aliens is 9/10. don't watch any of the others though, they actively make the setting worse
I see you bought this game on sale. As did I. Just finished it and I'm wondering why there isn't a sequel.
Amanda does not get referenced until Aliens though.
VR mod is one of the most intense horror games ever made, you wont make it past the train station.
because as is pointed out in every thread, there is no good reason to have a sequel
Wait, you haven't seen Alien? What the fuck how old are you? Yes, you should see Alien and Aliens before playing the game.
I just replayed this a few months ago and now I want to replay it. The beginning is so slow though and I fucking hate that Apollo Core level
no I mean stuff like small details in the environment or specific alarm sounds
gotta agree with this user
The Working Joes were way more creepier than the actual alien.
Also
>MFW Aliens don't attack working joes
The duration is fine, but the last mission is absolute garbage. Getting captured before getting to the airlock and everything that follows is a load of dogshit.
Oh yeah, for that alone the first movie would suffice, but the second movie is a good watch too, if only to know what happened after the game ended.
Agree with what? Mindless shitposting?
>Aliens don't attack working joes
youtube.com
this random clip is honestly more atmospheric than any of the recent movies
almost all videogames are not great at the end
>no good reason to have a sequel
>Literally a cliffhanger and ambiguous ending
>oh boy I can't wait to play the same game again
>maybe a spooky black alien thing will appear and kill everyone and I'll get to run away and get into all sorts of scrapes and narrowly escape again
or they'd fuck it up and make a garbage action game
I fucking loved that part of the game, the Working Joe’s are so based, and that bit where there’s one just walking around chatting to you on the stairs is really calming. Then you hear him talking shit to the alien, got a good laugh.
I absolutely fucking despise run and hide games. It’s just so fucking tedious and not fun. It’s literally like filler for a game. All this time wasted on hiding in some stupid fucking locker for some enemy to snoop around the area then leave then you make like 5 minutes of progress and it comes back and it’s hiding time again. Shit is insanely anti- fun. Literally a waiting simulator. It’s not scary at all it’s just fucking tedious.
Got like 3 hours into this game and dropped it because of that. Same with outlasts fuck these games
But its not ambiguous at all, the last clue that would lead to her mother is lost and she has to give up and actually start living her life. Gets married, gets old and dies of old age. A few months after she dies the Nostromo is found and Aliens start.
They are kind of right, in a sense that CRT's shadow masks were prone to regular screen door effect that would only get exacerbated by a dodgy VCR tape.
To go "full retard" genuine VCR experience, look no further than
September 1999
store.steampowered.com
Shit is absolutely uncanny and captured home video recording to a tee (in same way how spot on did K&L2 captured an early mobile 3GP recording with insanely uneven shadow balance and lighting artifacts (I reckon photographed textures also added to the illusion)
???
I agree that Stalker has more SOUL thank Alien Isolation
Doesn’t really excuse it, and it’s part of the reason why people say the game drags on. Being forced through a 15 minute linear FPS section with insta-kill headcrabs and trams is a really sour note to end on.
Unironically the game would have been better if it ended after you blow up the reactor core.
Don't worry user, you have MOBAs and Fortnite and COD! Shitloads of games for retards like you.
