It's an excuse to see the game ported to other platforms and get a solid PC port that isn't emulation based. It's a great game and part of a genre that hasn't had too many releases in years. I'd welcome it, as I don't want to scratch up my PS2 disk considering its ridiculously expensive now.

The last thing you should want is anything interesting to get "attention". The masses with their horrendous taste was ensure it becomes franchised and ran into the ground.

Emulation exists. PS2s won't "completely die out" for several decades. People can play this "hidden" gem that has been buttfucked by Youtubers for a decade any time they want.

Indeed, Haunting Ground's use of sexual themes is a big part of what makes it so creepy and successful as a horror experience, it was something daring to do back then but right now with all the crybabies around and cancel culture crap trying to do something like that would be asking for backlash from them.

PS2 had this weird thing with its horror games where every other game was a vulnerable woman in an unnerving scenario.
