Did Royal do anything to fix how everyone shits on Ryuji for the entire game and he just lets it wash off because he's not a pussy but when Ryuji says one mean thing to Morgana he throws a hissy fit and then everyone dogpiles Ryuji for being a dick?

Okay, I got Ryuji high enough to where it unlocked the instant kill thing for weaker shadows. But, how much fucking weaker do they need to be for that to work? Not once has it done it and I'm fairly certain I'm at least up to 10 levels above some of these guys.

Yes, green means they can be instakilled. And it works outside of mementos too, you just have to be sprinting, and you have to get an ambush.

Sort of. In the thieves den there's a shitton of new character interactions based on what display they're viewing, and one for Shido is all the girls feeling bad about beating Ryuji up. There's also one just between Morgana and Ryuji where they reconcile a bit and shows them to be much tighter than what the actual game ever presents. Ryuji also has the best responses to much of the new mementos dialogue during the new content that shows him to have wised up even if he's still not very intelligent.
