dead cells is kino. Spartan Sandals are god tier.

Gungeon, Isaac, Into the Breach and Slay the Spire are all better than this

I had fun with it for like 20-30 hours, but then the game expects you to just farm lower difficulties for souls do you can progress, which turned me off big time. Theres not much going on during a run on terms of build, so if you like gungeon or isaac for synergies you wont find anything close to that on here.

Does boi still stand up though? I feel like it was really good for the time but so many other games have done it so much better since it came out maybe im just burnt out

No roguelite has managed to beat BoI in terms of item synergies. The last xpac is supposed to come out at some point this year but there hasnt been news in a long long time

I refused to play BoI when it came to light that the dude who made it has severe mommy issues and is practicaly r/atheism incarnate. That and the Spencer's Gifts style humor in the game.

How is Moonlighter? I played it for a couple hours when it first came out but found it really eh and never touched it again. I heard it's gotten a lot of support/it's actually a finished game so I'm wondering if I should give it another go.

Here's a secret: BoI was never that good It's just a lot of peoples first experience with roguelites, plus it's got a great style. That, and Edmund has a strangely loyal fanbase.
