Once you get your Skell get used to the same song starting every time you fly or double jump by accident over and and over

Some of the music is absolutely abysmal but becomes endearing after a long enough time. However if it makes you want to shoot yourself and you are emulating it there is a mod to replace the music with the Xenoblade 1 ost.

I'll probably take a look into changing the music at some point. I hear there's an issue with how loud the sound is too.

The main story is kinda shit but he should go through the first 5-6 story chapters as they become available in order to unlock all the abilities. It sucks half the goddamn story is essentially tutorials but I feel the exploration and all the worldbuilding sidequests make up for it.

I fucking love X but I don't think I could will myself through all that shit again. It would have to be a significant overhaul to the main story, at the very least I better not be handcuffed to fucking Tatsu, Lyn and Elma 90% of the time.

Nah it's great the first time around, so long as you like exploring. I just wouldn't want to do most of it a second time because it's a long-ass fucking game if you do all the side content.

You don't get the flying Skells or Skells in general until VERY late in the game. Don't try to force it. Just go at your own pace.

Read the manual. There is a ton if mechanics you might miss that are crucial for doing well at it.

It's been a long time since I've played, but once you get late into the game, you're going to want to look up a good layout for your probes to maximize miranium yield. I have the entirety of Noctilum covered in storage probes that are chained together so I can hold more than 100K at once.

I just got this too and I beat chapter 3. Should I try to get every sidequest done before the next chapter or just do the ones that seem to give good rewards

Focus on doing just enough for story chapters until you beat chapter 6, I think it is. At that point your character's full range of abilities are available (except maybe mechs) and you are much better equipped to whup tyrant ass.

was there ever a better undub patch? the only one i found didn't change cutscenes.

Sounds good, I picked Curators so I've just been doing some sidequests and killing tyrants that I can.
Another question is should I just stick with a party of MC, Elma, Lin and one of the other named characters. It seems like a good party but this games party system is a bit confusing to start with

I recently did another run out it but I never 100% the game. This time I just use party members I never touched my first run when doing the side content, which makes up 80% of the game since main story is really short.

As much as I fucking hate Tatsu you should keep Elma and Lin around. They are almost always forced on you for the main story missions. After you finish that up you can use whoever for postgame.
