By that logic, NES games weren't Retro in 2005

>That 35-year-old boomer who says Morrowind is better than Skyrim because it's "more immersive"

>21 year old game isn't retro

Both are shit like every other game Bethesda has created, but Morrowind is still better.

Never forget Linus' nickname in highschool was just "faggot." and he got into a shin kicking competition with a girl on his first day.

Wow what a dumb opinion.

I was with you until
>your swings can never miss
>your spells can never fail
how the fuck is that a bad thing? there's such a disconnect when you hit a guy with your sword in 1st person perspective but it actually misses instead

Retro by /vr/ standards. PS2 was released in 2000, but it's not retro and apparently never will be. Fuck that board, I hope it gets axed.

The PS2 is older today than the N64 was when /vr/ was created.

this, OP is retarded

Butthurt zoomer

i heard some zoom zoom clan members calling gothic a retro game
this make interesting point OP
what is official definition of retro vidya?

I'm 29

I'm old as fuck and I would call games from 99 retro. When Doom came out I was in 6th grade and it was the hottest shit ever.

Source?

5th gen and before (plus Dreamcast) is retro

youtube.com/watch?v=hAsZCTL__lo start from about 5:15, mentions it all within a minute or so.

>o-o-oh no a kid died I'm traumatized now
>how can I possibly go on to make more videos and ad revenue???? abloo bloo bloo
>continues doing it anyway
Cringe.

It doesn't matter

NES was called retro then, and it was just 16 years old.

It's because they refuse to grow up.
If the things that came out when they were children can't become older then neither will they.

OP annihilated

Uhhhh what good games are there on phones? Other than battlevoid

>People are born either able to wield an axe or a spear or a sword or nothing
Class systems make sense in a game with party management like ensemble JRPGs, it's absolutely stupid in an open-world, first person adventure game. A player getting into the game for the first time can't know if they'll enjoy swordfighting the most, or projectile weapon use, or if they like the magic system. Games like Morrowind force the player to make all of these choices (and there's a lot of them, including even your physical movement in the world affected by 2 different skills) without understanding what they even mean.
Skyrim is absolutely much better designed in this regard by just letting the player figure out what they want to do themselves without arbitrary restrictions that cripple their experience four hours into the game.
You could've picked almost anything to compare between Morrowind & Skyrim and you literally chose the class system. That of all things reveals your 35-year-old boomer brain. You just like it because that's all you had. You can't accept change, even for the better.

morromeme forces nothing tho
you can pretty much make you own class in it
skyrim being well desingned is a meme unto itself,
i might exercise concept of no class system, but constant dumbing down of skill tree is simply idiotic
