How come 3ds turn based games are so much better than AAA turn based games?

Dual screen setup makes for superior user interfaces.

Nah, the DS and PSP had a better original library.

eh
it was good enough
games i liked:
>smt iv
>fire emblem echoes
>attack of the friday monsters
>pokemon xy unironically
>virtues last reward
>style savvy trendsetters
>kid Icarus uprising
>animal crossing new leaf
not as good as the DS, but still pretty good. was heavily lacking in some genres, but excelled in jrpgs

recommendations?

what was the last first party game to come out? i remember some fire emblem crap and ever oasis. it is my favourite console though and i'm still playing stuff on it.
since i never had a ds i got to play those games on my 3ds which is what pushed it to be my favourite console, cause the ds games were a cut above 3ds games.
smt iv represent. apocalypse can suck a dick.

>NA never got the pure white 3DS
I'm still mad

>Awakening
>new leaf
>uprising
>that one time they gave away XY for free
>Wario Ware gold
>miitopia
>Tomodachi life
>perfect Oot port
>link between worlds which is best Zelda game yet
>like 4 monster hunters
I would put it miles above the switch
yeah it was

what said but also what do you like and did you have a ds? ds games like the world ends with you, infinite space, gta chinatown wars and hotel dusk are great. then 3ds games like what said and i'd throw in ocarina of time, ghost recon shadow wars and the ace attorney trilogy.

I feel bad for the people who stop playing on legacy systems as soon as the company behind them says "no, we are not supporting it anymore"

oh yeah i forgot albw, the best zelda after oot. still waiting for the switch to be more then a ports machine. i mean really, wasnt the point of it that nintendo can unify their dev teams? yet theres still barely anything on their that i can't play on my wii u.

Last first party game would've been Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn in '19, before that was Superstar Saga remake. Last original game would've been Sushi Strikers in '18, or Warioware Gold the same year.
It was already on the way out 2017 was really the big blowout year since they wanted to wrap everything fucking up so they could put all hands on deck for Switch development.
Last major release for 3DS was Persona Q2 last summer, just in case you forgot.

whats the best game on the system? No remakes.

Yes, my Dragon Quest machine was great.

is 3ds kill?

pq2 is probably the last big release the 3ds will ever see.

It's done, bro. Nintendo SPD(aka the handheld team) had to wrap up all their shit to finish the merge with EAD(console teams) to form EPD.
But it got good support for 7 years, that's a good run. Only handheld with a longer lifespan was the OG Game Boy family and keep in mind, internationally we didn't get Pokemon Red/Blue until 1998 when the old brick was 9 years old(Japan got it in 96) so that thing had a lot of powerhouse releases over the course of its lifespan from Tetris and Super Mario Land at launch.

All that's left now is for people to pick it up on the cheap and enjoy its library for as long as Nintendo keeps supporting it in terms of manufacturing and repair, and keeps the lights on on its eshop.

When the Switch got popular, it was done. Which is fine, I prefer games going to a stronger platform. But at the same time, I kind of worry for Nintendo's next gen. Putting all their eggs into one combined handheld/console is not good. Their handhelds kept them rolling in green when three of their home consoles did poorly.

there's literally nothing coming for it anymore and it doesn't sell anymore. Production should end next year.

Since 3DS is kill, is this the final recommendation chart? Nothing needs to be added anymore?

It sells nowhere near as much as before and all of the retards flocked over to Switch. Even if Nintendo ended support for 3DS, why should that stop you from using it? There's people still using their NES to this day.

The Wii U was basically the only time they ever really operated at a lost. They still made a tidy profit on the N64 on top of printing money the entire time due to the Game Boy.

I would honestly say a versatile handheld/console is going to be the Nintendo model for the forseeable future.

>I would honestly say a versatile handheld/console is going to be the Nintendo model for the forseeable future.
It is. But I'm still worried it may backfire. Maybe not this gen or next, but eventually it could.

Nintendo knows the dedicated handheld market is dead thanks to smartphones, that's why Switch became a hybrid. And in fact, it's pretty much guaranteed that all their consoles will be hybrid from now on. There's no reason to ever go back to both a console and a handheld now since they can just fit it all in one hardware.

>not as clunky as Wii U, no retarded name that they have to devote an advertising campaign to inform people that the Wii and Wii U are separate consoles
>fits all lifestyles, whether it be playing on a TV, in handheld/tabletop mode within the comfort of your home or actually playing on the go
>all development output will be for one platform; this means all tentpole flagships from 3D Mario to Mario Kart to Animal Crossing, Splatoon, Zelda, etc. will be on this platform

The important thing is that it has a strong launch window and can keep that momentum. The Switch launch year was probably the best one in vidya history since arguably the PS2. You had Zelda on Day 1, follow that up with a bunch of lower key stuff and then your summer has ARMS and Splatoon 2, and then there's some third party stuff, then wrap up the year with Mario Odyssey and Xenoblade 2. It was a masterful play.

The only way it can backfire is if Nintendo sets it out to die with no killer apps or makes the mistake the early 3DS or Wii U had and heavily rely on third parties to fill dead space.

because boring gameplay is more tolerable in short burts

My favourite 3DS game has to be Pokemon Ultra Sun. It's better than Sword and Shield in some ways.

3DS
>2 kino fire emblem games
>kid icarus uprising
>ace attorney
>link between worlds
>yokai watch
>so many other shit im forgetting to mention

Switch
>Mario odyssey
>three houses
>smash ultimate
>everything else is ports

where did it all go wrong bros?

3DS had jackshit to play on its first 3 years.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

>a shit game is better than another shit game
Okay...

>so many other shit im forgetting to mention
You forgot to put this under Switch.

Seriously, with the home console and handheld sectors combined I thought the Switch was gonna have an enormous library. This is pathetic.

I know it would’ve done poorly but god I wish we could’ve gotten DQ11 on the 3DS. Would’ve been so cool

I want to play my 3ds

what game should I play?

Monster Hunter For You

Would have been nice. But we got most of it with the Switch version. Just don't have the middle ground 3D mode.

It's a big game

>Turned on 3DS to dick around the other day
>A button misses some inputs
T-This is how it starts ain't it?

Oh shut up, I just hacked you and bought you a new SD card. The good times are just getting started

Theatherhythm
Dragon Quest VII & VIII
Bravely Default
The Alliance Alive
A Link Between Worlds
Luigi's Mansion 2
About 50 regular DS games

Those 3d classic Sega games were amazing ports. Most of the 1st party titles were solid.
