Just about any, the PS3 is an awful console with no games and the one model with PS2 hardware, which would net you a PS2 with native wireless controllers and HDMI, is a ticking time bomb.

the compatibility is shit because it emulates the PS2 gpu and there's errors everywhere.
The official PS2 emulator is good enough, plays all the GTA games, all the SMTs, the silent hills and a bunch others.
Repaste that shit before you even turn it on though

Neither of your options is very good.
But PS2 compatibility is better on the original fats, as long as you're willing to babysit your console.
Also, later fat PS3s only have partial or minimal compatibility with PS2 games.

To this day, I'M STILL MAD they charged $600 for a console and couldn't bother adding in a $1 cord. I had to drive far out to a Fry's because they were the only ones who even knew what an HDMI cord was at the time, fucking bastards.
