Autism is more than just a social disorder. It often involves a great deal of fixation on small details many people would consider mundane.
My half brother would often get excited whenever the clock would have repeated numbers (such as 5:55, 12:12, etc.) and he would make everyone stop and make a wish. Such numbers can be very important to an autistic person.
