I was raised a middle class vaxxed formula slave under brainwashed boomers so video games are my addiction to waste time of my misled and hampered life.

With the exception of Space Station 13, which I don't even count as a game because it's predominately text based at a high roleplay server, I gave up video games when I was 15.
I didn't own a console until my wife bought me a Switch this past Christmas. Ultimate's fun and it's nice to see Animal Crossing is nearly the same in almost 20 years.

I have a pretty good PC and money isn't much of an issue for me. I don't buy a lot of games anymore but have a decent backlog. I hate the "gamer" scene and try to avoid being in it as much as possible besides anonymous posting here. To quit I'd need to have a life worth living instead of wanting to distract myself playing vidya where all my problems go away

I disagree because I play vidya on drug. I will say this, the brain damage you give yourself makes things more entertaining. I think I'll stop smoking weed next year and get a regular job. I enjoyed 1 marvel movie so I think if I keep at it a while longer I can become a normie and more efficiently distract myself from my existential dread.
