I felt bad for Vauthry, it's not entirely his fault that he turned out the way he did. If you've already played through the main scenario questline/looked it up online, you learn the circumstance of his coming to be. Felling him was unfortunate but necessary all things considered.

Oh I knew that, I was just being courteous for spoilers and such. But now that the cat's out of the bag, of course it was Emet. Not that I don't feel a sense of sympathy for him either he just had an ill-fated way of going about it all. An ultimatum that "As long as everyone unites, it'll be as if none of these incomplete creatures ever existed." His plan would eventually come to fruition in the grand scheme of things if everything is cyclical but he wanted to expedite the process because he was extremely depressed and on the brink of insanity really. Still, it's a tragedy all around but in short, yes, Emet-Selch was at the helm of this trainwreck and letting him run rampant would have been the worst thing. Had to put the rabid bastard down.

His goal was to create a paradise for what remained of Norvrandt's humanity, not conquering the world. War and bloodshed would've been entirely opposed to his world views and goals. He only declared war on the Crystarium for threatening the tenuous peace they had in the first place. Remember, he is called Innocence for a reason.

It just annoys me how much people forgive him, I understand the fact is showing sympathy towards the character but he is still responsible for millions of deaths. Just finished vanilla a few days ago and started seven asteral quests and holy shit the quality has taken a fucking nose dive. Story in ARR wasn't excellent but I kinda enjoyed it regardless, should I just rush through the Seven Asteral quests and read a plot synopsis or does it pick back up because I'm on 2.2 right now and its pretty fucking dogshit.
