Has there ever been a more disappointing sequel since DMC2?

Can you call it a sequel? It has virtually nothing to do with the first game and X came first so technically thats a sequel.

It has better gameplay than XC1

DMC5
Literally just nostalgia bait
Boy band looking retards

Debatable. They added more mechanics sure, but it just made everything more fussy and repetitive than the simpler combos and character mechanics in 1. Plus they fucked up on some basic things like autoattacking while moving so combat is just arbitrarily slower.

Also the Blades system was hot garbage compared to the unique character abilities of XBC1 or the class system of X

Honestly the problem I had with XC2 was the post game content, there is none. And don`t tell me the affinity chart is content its not

Oh nice a XB2 thread. Post your favorite Blade(s)

It is
Plus land of challenge
And superbosses
Anywhere here is your reply

Dead Space 3

>Just buy the endgame separately, dude. It's great.

Not this one if that's what you're implying.

It has literally the same amount of post game as XC1, more if you want to count challenge battles.

>Has there ever been a more disappointing sequel since DMC2?
yes
the alt right is a super fucking worthless sequel to Nazi Germany

>Anything more repetitive than topple locks

This game is probably top3 jrpgs from the last decade, but you wouldnt know that, you dont even play video games. If you arent a retarded adhd faggot and played it for a bit more until you discovered what its about and how good the combat is, you would have the same opinion. I dont think there is anyone that finished it and didn't like it.

b-but xenoblade has build variety

Brighid, Godfrey and Finch(might not be that good but it was the first rare blade I got so I'm kinda biased)

Probably you. Parents thought they'd get another winner like your older brother.

I cant fucking find Torna the golden country at ANY shops in my country, and amazon delivery is 15 euros which isnt worth it. God fucking damn it. Also wtf happened that every game is retardedly expensive? I saw BOTW for ~100 dollars and wanted to buy Astral Chain but it is ~80$. Fucks sake

Topple locks take maybe 20 seconds to pull off though. Every single battle in 2 demands that you spend at least a minute building up combos and orbs just to get through some trash. There are more buttons to press and meters to watch sure, but it isn't interesting.

Whoever looked at Xenoblade's combat and thought "You know what this system needs? 8 more linear mechanics to manage in order to receive an identical result" was a fucking moron. Nothing XBC2 adds has any element of interest decision making or tactics involved.

>buying physical in 2020

user...

Super bosses and the unique monsters stronger than the final boss are free, you also can do blade quests.

I agree with this, the worse thing I heard someone hwo finisht hte game say about it is the game is just okay.

what the fuck who doesnt buy physical. Are u stupid?

People complain about how the combat is slow but it took me play to torna to understand how I love the pacing of the combat in the original.
It takes time to set up a chain attack finisher with a chain attack, but the time you take creating orbs and learning blade setups that allow you to finish blade combos faster really makes it the combat flow following a progression that leads to very satisfying finishers that deal insane amounts of damage.
Also if you want the combat to be faster, later you can just do things like spamming crits.
Battles in Torna were faster but that speed made many of battles feel meaningless.

If 2 didn't have any postgame content, neither did the first one, because it's practically the same thing in both games.

You didn’t finish the game, I’m pretty sure

XBC2 is the other half of the scientist’s experiment that rebooted the universe and made the world where Bionis and Mechonis exists. In this alternate reality, his half is the “good” side, aka The Architect, Titans and Blades are the beings he created. The ending literally links everything to the fist XBC, Alvis is probably the third Aegis that was never seen, and that explains why the Monado is such an unique blade.

In short, it has everything to do with XBC1.

I mean it provides context for 1s villian but the stories are completely separate. Alvis likely has no knowledge of Pyra or Maloss existence as he exists entirely separate from that universe.

Well... let's see what happen in the retcon.

i've put like 160 hours into xb2 and 90 into Torna, never played the original but I'm gonna play it soon when we get the Definitive edition, and then probably gonna replay xb2. Its so fucking amazing, cant believe so many anons got filtered by the "anime" stuff and the combat system(that is amazing btw)

POPPIBUSTER ENGAGE

I bought Xenoblade 2's physical copy, but not Torna. I downloaded the software from Torna and it shows at the bottom of the title screen.

idk I think Torna's physical looks cool so I'd like to have it, simple as that. I dont see any downsides to it, I could even sell it, even though im probably never going to do that bc I'd like to replay it in like 2 years for sure

So what? It’s still a sequel of the events that were shown in the first game, even if both stories end at the same time.

>That 120lvl monster.
I preordered the Wii version, and it came with the artbook.

>sequel
>happens at the same time in a parallel universe

Their loss. Not trying to be an elitist but it's for the best if Xeno stays a relatively niche franchise. Don't want smash fags and other retards influencing future game design.

Malos, the fact he wasn't a dlc blade that screamed Monado moves at the top of his lungs was criminal

yeah, kinda agree with this. I'm just sad that they missed out on a game as good as this one, but at the same time I'm glad I didn't. I'm sure this is one of the few games that I'll look back to in ~10 years and be nostalgic about them, and enjoy my time replaying.
