You're going to blame yourself for thinking you could have done more, but in the end, you gave it the best life and he loved you for it. That's the way this shit goes bruh.

Sorry to hear that, user. I know >comfy is a meme but something along those lines would probably help, such as Rune Factory or Stardew Valley. Depending on your tastes, you could also go for some light-hearted JRPGs like the Atelier games, or some humorous adventure games like Monkey Island or Full Throttle.
I find that going through my favorite single player games of all time helps with shit like this as well.

I've had to say goodbye to 6 pets over the course of my life. Never really gets easier. Sorry for your loss. Games won't really help. I would especially advise avoiding multiplayer for a couple days because you'll likely get sent into a spiral of anger and sadness pretty quickly there. "Comfy" single player games or something extremely mindless like an open world Ubisoft game would be best. Or just sleep and watch Netflix, that tends to work better for me when I'm in that place.
