What's the most boring video game you've ever played and why?

Dead Island, you just run around killing zombies, thats it. But the music was pretty great.

Metal Gear Solid 5. It just lacks soul. The story is kinda bad. I'd rather have linear gameplay over open-world. Mother Base micromanagement was stupid.

Why do i keep seeing this anime girl everywhere on Zig Forums

Assassins Creed Syndicate

Haven't touched a soulless AAA open world slop pile since, they're all so fucking bad

i fell asleep playing dragon quest 8 once, i don't even particularly dislike DQ but something about that game is just a complete (literal) snoozefest

Fuck-it, X-com 2.

Combat is great, but I had to start using spreadsheets and a fucking calculator to manage the base

The last of us

deus ex reboot

Animal crossing. It felt so pointless to play, you get on, do chores, and that's really it. I guess I can see why people would like it, it just absolutely was not for me, I fell asleep a couple hours in to trying to play new horizon on my girlfriend's switch.

I bought Animal Crossing and played it for about a week. Nothing happens, there's only a few things to do that are tedious and repetitive, and I honestly wouldn't even really call it a game.

Sentinels of Freedom, shitty X-com clone with capeshit

persona 4
didn't reach gameplay four hours in so i just said fuck it
i hear 5 is even worse in this regard
what went wrong

any triple A western game, the gameplay is always shallow and it offers nothing new or interesting in any other aspect

elaborate please.

The Political Machine: 2012. It was fucking boring and I instantly regretted buying it.

any of the many EC rated ones
they're usually absolute boring slogs at best

Dead Island was fun for the first part, then it became boring.

I got bored after reaching the first island in Black Flag.

I just can't get motivated, to this day, to complete White Knight Chronicles.

Super mario

The first, or the second? The second includes the entirety of the first game, and retools much of the gameplay to be much more palatable and faster paced. Not good, mind, but a hell of a lot more tolerable.
It's a shame you missed when the servers were up, I met some real cool dudes (and you also got great items)

Armored Core 2

There just isn't really any pay off. It feels like a freemium mobile game

The Stanley Parable.

Quake. Also ugly to boot. Guess you had to be there for it matter.

Fallout 1

avatarfagging

Assassins Creed 3 probably
Started off promising with Haytham but half the game felt like an extended tutorial

Oblivion

It's shit

I think it's supposed to be like a new form of social media. It's kind of like having a facebook page and not being friends with anybody.

It's one of those games that you can't play for hours, which is a shame because that's only a recent philosophy the series took in. The gamecube title gave you more incentive to keep playing.

I play NH only for about an hour or two a day, then go play something else.

The entire ride was fun but buggy imo, and Riptide kind of fixed the pacing issue of the first game.
For my boring game: Call of duty Ghosts, both singleplayer and multiplayer. How can you mess up CoD? It's such a simple yet effective formula.

Dragon's dogma

Zelda BOTW and Skyrim

Bloodborne; it's just another gothic cosmic horror wannabe that I've seen with dozens of creepypastas, cthulhu mythos knockoffs, scps, fantasy movies/novels, etc. It offers nothing new if you look at anything else that is in the medium, and what it does now doesn't even do it particularly great either, it's pretty standard and it also has the same framework as demon/dark souls so even trying to look at it as only From's other project doesn't help because it's pretty much a reskin of their other games but now with a few new elements that barely make it stand out from the other souls games.

Nier Automata

I was bored out of my fucking mind throughout the entirety of Metal Gear Rising
I didn't even particularly dislike it nor did I think it was bad, I can see why people like it but I was just incredibly uninterested in it

Blue Reflection. Nothing happens and the gameplay felt lacking. Still liked it
FF7R. The level design is horseshit from the FF13 era

Attached: level design.png (248x410, 105.02K)

Any mass effect game.

The Atelier series. I played Totori on this boards recommendation and dropped it after a few hours.

Mario Kart 7
Shining Resonance Refrain
Gris
Warframe

Near Tomato
after you get over the ass it's just a button masher

GTA Online. I'm not sure how, but Rockstar managed to turn a game about breaking the law in every way you can think of into a game where you need to follow a hundred rules at all times. You're punished for stealing cars and stuff, so the game just tells you to steal money in order to buy... cars? In a Grand Theft Auto, you can't keep cars you find like you always could and should, you need to pay to do literally anything, even a fucking mechanic. Ugh.

Don't remember.
