Why isn't there a horror game based on the Nutty Putty cave?

>get stuck in complete darkness and die after people fail to save you

there should be one about Ted first

A horror game about getting lost in a cave system would be pretty based desu.

why didnt they just break his legs to get him out? better having a broken leg than fucking dying.

>wait till you lose the game

>wrigged headfirst into a narrow unmapped part of the cave

jesus christ, what a fucking idiot. What the fuck did he think was going to happen?

>No underwater diving cave exploration game
>Randomly generated (or not)
>Photograph rare fish
>Avoid disturbing silt deposits
>Guidance rope integrity mechanic
>Deploy flood lights or flares
>Obtain rare earth minerals
>Co-op
>Manage O2 tanks
>Purchase better equipment after each run
>Optional VR
>Uncover a secret Cthulhuian horror
>20gb of uncompressed rebreather mask suffocation and muffled scream noises

They didn't want to risk him dying of shock, but at that point I'd say it's worth the risk

I bet there's booty in that cave

>we dont want to risk you dying of shock do were just gonna leave you in here to die

what the fuck

Shock could have killed him.

One of those deaths doesn't lead to lawsuits

Pic related is actually pretty decent if you want a horror game set in caves.

>john jones
why didnt he just phase out the cave?

There are several rogue-likes in which, depending of your level of retardation, you can get lost and/or die in the most hilarious/horrifying way possible.

All these years and we still don't know what he is hiding

in a cave, forgot to say.

My understanding is that they thought they would be able to pull him out, but as he was coming out the pulley system broke somehow and he fell back in, smashed his nose and drowned in blood. If I remember correctly, they probably thought they could get him out without breaking his legs until he fell back in, at which point it was too late.

Read the fucking image retard

Theres obviously some optional boss encounters and good loot there

I'm hoping you get deaths scythe as a reward but it's super rare with a 0.5% drop chance

please never lead a rescue operation

My brother went past the sign in this exact image and told me that if you go underwater and repeat "L is Real" 241 times, the cave wall will open up and you can unlock luigi

I don't know about you guys but I'd rather take a 10% chance of surviving with broken legs than a 100% chance of dying.

>Subnautica.jpg

that is just shit luck

That reminds me, what is the natural importance of these caves?
I know some have freshwater and there's a few cave-dwelling species deep in there, but I wonder if anyone would bother just excavating those with machines and whatever the appropriate demolition tools would be.

Also I always thought they were never able to get him out, but already he almost made it out

The Forest has some good cave stuff in it. One of the few games that actually spooped me, too.

> Go past the sign
> It's actually the easy route
> There's a fucking Denny's in there

imagine exploring an underwater cave just for fun (because there are no secret treasures down there) and realizing you don't know anymore where the exit is

Back when tv actually had cool documentaries and crocodile hunters and shit instead of 15 different flavors of DIY renovation shows, I remember a bunch of cave diving documentaries, and they said that if you weren't careful you could disturb the silt in the bottom of the cave, leading to it disrupting everyone's vision and causing you to lose your orientation, which would cascade out of control, waste your oxygen, and cause you to lose your bearing.

Caves are fucking hardcore underwater.

This user is correct. Did you know that without cave training and cave equipment you could die in there? Do you know if you have all the necessary cave equipment? Better not take the risk.

All caves were unmapped at one point

He went in with that pioneer's spirit to fulfill the greatest of sacrifices: being the retard who dies so everyone else who rightfully stayed away knows for absolute certain not to do the stupid thing

This never fails to make me hyperventilate.

But user
Pirate treasures!

>play game
>get stuck
>look up the walkthrough
>"it's meant to happen, just wait for the rescue"
Fucking bullshit design.

The Forest.
advertises itself as an innawoods survival crafting game but it's actually a jumpscare horror game about caves.

So, an "I wish I was walking" simulator?

There is NOTHING worth dying for in those caves. 300 divers die each year. For NOTHING.

The only stupider hobby I can think of is 5-chamber Russian roulette.

Why didn't they use something to numb his legs?

But if there was nothing in there then why would people go in? Riddle me that, treasure skeleton

Your interpretation of the operation seems to be they said "welp, we could accidentally break his leg so we may as well give up!"
It was actually only once the pulley had broke and had to be re-drilled that he was good as dead since it takes a while to set those up, and he had already been upside down for hours

Weird
I spent 10 hours today writing down all the tech reference links I would need to do this, before I even read your post because I was thinking about this idea for a while.
I decided I could do it, but it would be too empty, and just be a worse subnautica, but with better draw distance. It could have terrain editing/mining but I don't even see the point, it's too open ended.

Imagine being stuck head over in a cave for hours and then some asshole breaks your legs

there was always a madman in my friend group that would navigate the underwater caves blind and make it to the other side. couldn't get me near that shit
