No, story isn't important for fps
I think it's a great game. Takes a lot of cues from System Shock 2 but that's not a bad thing. Light RPG elements but not to the point of feeling like there are useless choices. Interesting setting. Varied levels. I would say Shock2 and Bioshock stand on the same pedestal while Infinite is the lesser of the three.
No because the gameplay is pretty bad.
But its certainly one of the best told stories in a video game, fps or not. Surely that should mean for something
Infinite was pretty disappointing imo. It takes a hard left into scifi which took me out of the experience.
Nope, I play to shoot people
Half life one is better than the Bioshock series
No, 2nd one has better gameplay.
I don't get where this meme came from
>guns sound good and have decent recoil (unless you upgrade them to feel inferior like Tommy Gun)
>each gun has clear pros and cons and the game doesn't give you 2000 guns that have barely any difference
>enemy variety is better than most fps to this day
>plasmids
so much soul and atmostphere compressed into 1 game
Bioshock (1) is in a league of its own imo
Yeah that's Bioshock Infinite.
Bioshock is overrated dogshit and the gameplay sucks, not even worthy of being called an immersive sim
it’s fun to play on drugs
prey was so good but FUCK the weapon is aligned like ass
Which ones? Might give it a try
Please don't tell me people found that puzzle to be hard. I refuse to believe that.
painkillers and marijuana, don’t mix ‘em tho, not always the best twist.
I forgot the rest of the guns were in IRL
ur a bitch. i always mix painkillers, marijuana, cocaine and alcohol.
u must be a little baby.
Its story has all the problems you constantly find in Anglo productions: there isn't a single interesting character (seriously, they couldn't write a compelling character even if their lives depended on it) and the plot is pretty devoid of any narrative hook, but they add some coats of poorly written sarcasm and call it a day.
It doesn't work.
Prey was so damn good. Shame Zenimax forced Arkane to call it Prey to cash in on a dead IP instead of whatever they were going with originally.
yeah whatever, enjoy cardiac arrest retard
Bioshock 2 is the best one from this series. I personally thought Bioshock 1 overstayed it's welcome and started to drag on whilst Infinite crawled up it's own arse throughout.
Define 'our time' but I'm still gonna say no. The gameplay's mediocre, the research camera is just annoying and adds nothing when a traditional level up system or even less non-traditional would have been leagues better, and the plasmids are honestly kind of useless. No direct damage plasmid is a HUGE flaw. Incinerate has garbage damage considering the time it takes to switch over even with the tonic that boosts fire damage. The only non-passive plasmid worth a damn is shock, and even that's pretty bad since it's broken with any damage. Not to mention how janky the big daddy system can be sometimes. I can't tell you how many times I set an enemy on fire, he ran into a big daddy, and the daddy aggrod me and not him, for instance.
And even the story feels flimsy. The timeline is all sorts of fucked up. Why the fuck did they have to send the player away from Rapture, have him get on a plane, and then crash land? It doesn't make any sense and is just there to add to the twist. Why is Suchong's corpse still there if he was killed the very day he discovered that his big daddy/little sister plasmid worked? How long was your mother's body rotting in the strip club? How long was the war going on for? I'll even grant them magically building rapture overnight, but too much is clearly just there because it's neat, not because it makes sense.
>TFW still boycotting Bethesda
One day I'll play this and The Evil Within. Not too interested in D44M, honestly.
Just pirate them
No because the FPS part is mediocre
*blocks your path*
My man. This shit right really fucks with my perspective.
Juggling guns and plasmids is a pain in the ass during combat, not to mention most plasmids suck ass. To this day, I have no idea if the bees actually do fucking anything. It never works. Enemy variety is okay, but heavily under-utilized. Nitro and Houdini splicers are so rare that I forgot they existed outside their into chapters. The guns are fine and alternate ammo types are neat, but the enemies become insane bullet sponges later on. I just re-beat it. Even using electroshock, a full magazine from a fully upgraded shotgun isn't enough to take down a leadhead, for instance. Having to use the research camera is annoying in and of itself, but on top of that, it takes up a weapon slot so you'll constantly accidentally select it instead of a gun. (for some reason, they decided to make that problem worse in 2.) It's just kind of clunky from head to toe.
>Why the fuck did they have to send the player away from Rapture, have him get on a plane, and then crash land?
Not only why, but how did they do this?
Love this game. Can't believe how few people know about it.
