the combat system is terrible. Fights take fucking years to play out and dumb mr/armour system means mixed party compositions are gimped. And don't get me started on how every spell and ability seems to create a surface

I didn't really like it all that much but I wouldn't say it was bad. The combat irritated me but it wasn't close to the worst I've ever played. 6.5/10 and mainly b/c i just don't like Isometric games.

It's not like there's many coop rpgs on the market...

Its good. The writing is silly and dumb for the most part, but its fine. The combat is very fun with lots of room for build variety.

The only reason this has overwhelming reviews is because the only people who finished are the Laian fanboys that can stomach the gameplay.but forget that the RPG has god awful writing.

It's the plebbiest game and if this is the future of RPGs, then it's pretty much dead by this point.

character portraits are shit except for the story characters and the story gave that "ow the edge" vive here and there but it was enjoyable over all
there's a metric fuck ton of ways to exploit the battle system and break the game but even if you don't enjoy finding them it's still fun to play
no sign of poz until the last part of the game but even then it's just one random female NPC casually mentioning she has a wife as if faggotry was normal in that setting, but other than that i found no SJWisms

i thought the first one was better. i didn't like how shit was exploding almost nonstop in the DOS2, changing the battlefield each turn and fucking up your tactics, and too often enemies would run away making you spend extra turns just to get in range.
but it was really the journal/quest system that was so horrid i had to stop playing.
