what are your thoughts on Alienware?
What are your thoughts on Alienware?
Fucking garbage
meme
Just buy a clevo and stop paying for a stupid logo
if your rich and get the right model, it's not bad. I don't exactly like dell's practices so I avoid them.
if I was a richfag I would get the gaudiest RGB ridden alienware PC just for lelz
I'm still using an Alienware laptop after six years and it's still more powerful than Xbone and PS4. But I don't play anything on it other than 7th gen games and anything earlier.
The Apple for wannabe gamers
their computers are overpriced like most other gamer brands, but monitors especially are top class
>it's still more powerful than Xbone and PS4
not exactly a high bar the base PS4s GPU equivalent
Good for laptops. Get a warrantee though and fuck poor people.
Mine just died after 5 years. Still had decent performance and had no problem playing any game I wanted to play.
based alienware kiddie
They were ok a long time ago before Dell bought them. Now they are just way over priced for what they are.
Were fine desktops for the price a long time ago before Dell bought them. Once Dell bought them their prices damn near doubled. Now their desktops aren't anywhere near worth the price. For desktops just build it yourself. If you can't for whatever reason, then just go to Cyberpower or something. You'll get the same thing for far lower price and without all the bloatware.
For Laptops, they are more OK but still too over priced. Just buy an Asus or something. Same power, lower price, no bloat.
I'm looking for a new pc. Is it still more viable to build it yourself?
Vaguely related to the OP, but are there any good gaming laptops out there? Doesn't have to be absolute top of the line, just want something I can play shit like Battlefield or Red Orchestra 2 / Rising Storm 2 on if I'm away from home for a week.
Very much. Most preassembly places charge $700 or more on top of the cost of the components and the only difference is they put them together for you. I mean, if you don't care about that money then sure just have somebody else do it and put the liability on them. But it's easy to do yourself so there is no reason to ever spend that money.
Good, I've been buying only alienware laptops for over ten years and literally they're all still in perfect working condition. Poorfags and jew coupon cutters will tell you otherwise, don't listen to them.
cringe
just get an alienware on one of their discount days.
Overpriced and all of their products looks uglier than anything else you can buy.
Overpriced shit hand-made for retards who haven't the foggiest clue about tech and can't be assed to do anything but be lazy while feeling superior to others.
Everything is overpriced by at least 50%, better than using Apple products but still the sign of a moron.
>my 2k laptop from 6 years ago is still more powerful than 300 dollar consoles from 6 years ago.
Check out the big brains on Brad over here. An absolute paragon of intelligence.
Used to be alright as far as prebuilts are concerned, since the DUDE IM GETTIN A DELL buyout they're just as shit, overpriced underpowered garbage with some RGBs and a font.
If you gotta go for a prebuilt I'd still say buy from an independent third party builder. As long as it's not ironside anyway.
You're suffering from cognitive dissonance. Whats more likely, you have psychic powers and can tell what others are thinking or someone buying an alienware because they want a portable gaming machine?
Always. Making one yourself is usually the best deal you can get, provided you can choose the right components and play grown-up LEGO once the parts arrive (seriously, Youtube will teach you how to successfully make your own PC).
The only better deals are getting a %sales pre-built that you can swap a part or two around for an added cost (though I don't know if you can do this in the US), buying used good PCs, and buying used office PCs and jacking them up with a new GPU and PSU.
If you're someone with a lot of money (and I do mean a lot of money, kinda the 100grand/year money) that doesn't really give a fuck, Alienware is pretty cool. If I had the disposable income, I'd easily drop about two grand on an Alienware, but alas I am a poor fuck talking to other poor fucks on an indonesian poker board. My friend has a used Alienware laptop, and it was a thing of beauty that also worked really well.
Unironically, Alienware's bullshit laptops are great, but they're very costly. Like, only a dumbass will buy them costly.
You're looking at about $800-1200 for a good regular laptop, and even then they're about half as good as a quality desktop. So yea, you can get a machine that'll run what you want, but it'll both cost a lot and give you a lot less than a desktop.
The dell bad meme has got to stop, its just regurgitated poorfags spewing this meme for years now.
From what I've seen, desktop build quality is usually passable. They seem generally overpriced, but that's pretty much all prebuilts.
Good monitors everything else is shit
Why did Dell always get shit on so much? Our family computer from like 2007 is still kicking with an SSD in it.
