It's overly ambitious. Which is ironically also what went right. They take risks often, which don't always pan out, but it's a good game because it takes those risks.

this, they had a good core and then smeared so much antifun shit on top (archwing, rail, open world garbage, that new annoying radio)
i think seasons like PoE would have been good for the game but it's too late to implement now
that said i really liked the story missions but they stopped making those

DE listening to casuals. PoE eidolon speedruns, a completely accidental feature they never intended, put the game on the map for traditional gamers who wanted a challenge and the number of players EXPLODED. I got into it here from friends saying that the game had "turned a corner" and wasn't the babysitter it started out as. If they continued down this path they'd have conquered Destiny's market. But it made the game's shitters jealous that good groups weren't willing to carry them and they couldn't do just as well soloing so DE fucking wrecked the spider fights in Fortuna and the good players moved on. Same thing happened to raids although they weren't nearly as fun, shitters cried raids died.

Other huge mistakes:

Hiring extremely abusive trannies to police the community because they'd Do It For Free, like pedophiles running a daycare, and defending them when even reddit had enough.

Unbanning the author of a chat scanning bot and giving it special permission to help redditors cheat at trading because they were jealous of the space Jews the Jews weren't cheating, that was max cope, they were just playing to win. This is also "listening to casuals" as the problem.

I can go on. Some of my favorite weapon designs and frame designs are stuck in this stupid shitty faggot game destined to die. I just wish a more capable studio bought it so that proper work can go into it, and make it as good as it should have been years ago. Right now it's a mishmash of unfinished ideas that will remain unfinished. Bunch of canadian scumfucks also play the victim if their players call them out, too. We never hear anything because again, they're hidden away in their own irrelevancy so they never get the spotlight to show their true colors to everyone.

I got to the point where you had to grind for resources to grind for keys and find 4 other people with different keys to grind for portals to grind the bosses that give you resources to wait a week to get a gun

The content is stuck in side-grade hell. Not that there's much of a point in getting stronger, since they haven't made any difficult content in years. Nearly all the new shit they've released has been designed with fairly new players in mind.
