I know his 64 design wasn't that good, but it's so odd seeing his final GBA design used instead. Still a neat addition though, especially since Lucas had been considered as early as Melee before Mother 3 was moved off the N64.

Probably because it's much easier to just make a character that already has a basis to go off of instead of making an entirely new one. They'd pretty much have to come up with a mostly new moveset for Ninten while with Lucas they literally just took his Brawl/4/Ultimate moveset with the only "new" change being that they gave him Ultimate Ness' up air.

Everyone knows that Mother 3 was originally supposed to be on the N64 but it got cancelled and came out a decade later on the GBA and the story is supposedly much different than what it was going to be in EB64. Lucas' design isn't even close to the same. Lucas is not a N64 era rep, get over it.
