Code Vein

Is it me or is using a 2H build the only way to go?
I never really dabbled in any other blood codes because I can just demolish mostly anything with my +10 Oni Bane Fortification.

2H swords can be easier against certain enemies due to high stagger rates. Halberds, 1H swords, and Hammers are all still great. The only weapons that fall short of the competition are axes and bayonets.

Unga bunga definitely works. I'm always a bit stingy with ichor when I'm against common mooks, but Devour transformation made me use gifts more often.

Code Vein is such shit. I saw a guy critique the DLC and they're such fucking rip offs. They're basically identical in layout. I don't know what people expected from a blatant souls rip off with weeb character creator. Is that the only reason fags bought it? Why did people buy this game?

It's an extremely newb friendly build with its 100% block and it seems every enemy was designed to always give you just enough of an opening to make it work. I ran it too.

2H absolutely the best for story, I killed DLC boss with one handed though, they got a bit too speedy for my 2H.

I loved every moment when it came out, I finally tried the DLC and yeah... the DLC is fucking horrendous, tldr 3 new bosses that you are supposed to kill over and over again for the DLC items that ALL are just reskins of pre-existing gear.

Doesn't help that if you've already played God Eater, the bosses aren't even anything new.

No doubt if you go to /cvg/ they're mostly just jerking off to character creator. CV has some good ideas but it's really just a discount Souls in the same vein that God Eater is a discount Monhun. I think it could be improved thought highly unlikely when GE series never improved.

>coolest weapons
>meatiest fucking hits
>satisfying "I just read Berserk and now I want to swing a 200lb sword around too" animations
>super block
Swallow Cutter and Tormenting Blast are so fucking fun man

I enjoyed it a lot and was one of my favorite games of 2019. I will never understand why almost no one liked it.
Haven't tried the DLC yet (I want to get the "fourth" ending first before trying them).

i'm playing it right now and yeah
i was struggling to play it properly, attacks seemed unavoidable, then i equipped a bigass sword and found out that blocking is basically greatshield levels of good

People say this but I very rarely block; dodging (or just killing the enemy before retaliates) is easier and less risky to me, even when I "fat roll".

on mooks, yeah
bosses on the other hand have multi-hit attacks where the hits are fast enough that if you roll the first hit you can't roll the second

It's been called "Code Dick Vein" ever since it came out for a reason.

because dps is much higher so why bother with anything else

you know, i've never been one for character creation, usually in souls i just hit randomize to make a goofy purple face and be done with it, but given how over the top this game was i had to make an appropriate character
too bad the fattest setting you could go was gulag tier

No, with bosses too. The only boss I block because it's easier is gilded hunter's "berserk" phase.

is it pirateable yet

>Get Black GS
>Slap on FIONN
>Slap on all possible active/passive that reduce charge time for heavy attack
>Stunlock every single thing in the game
Caster is more fun for me though

been piratable since launch

dlcs sucks so who cares just play basic version

The invasions suck ass.
I'm also tying to make a magic build but I am only in the 3rd area so my magic list is kinda limited

Git gud

The game throws a fucking gangbang squad at your ass in invasions, something that not even other Souls, including Dark Souls 2 which is infamous for mobbing your ass, games do.

2H Chads win again

I don't have any good 2H swords. I think. Or at least ones that work with my current code

Rifle builds are alright but managing ichor is not. I prefer Bloodborne's blood bullet system instead.

Try halberds, severing Abyss is the strongest weapon gift in the game at 508% damage. I've one shot bosses with the right set ups.

The unupdated version without a lot of QoL improvements

The DLCs include a few weapon gifts that are even stronger, namely Steadfast Strike

You're missing out on mage builds, user. Best mage builds in a Souls-like

None of the bosses attack too fast for you to roll instead of block. None of them.
