Gotta agree with this. XIII's characters were also more interesting the that generic big tough man, know-it-all whiz kid, and goofy best friend tropes in XV. I'd argue XIII's world/setting was more interesting than XV's empty open-world as well.

I played 1-3 FF games before I played any of the other ones. They aren't great but they are simple enough to enjoy. 13 is just to much of a big expensive modern mess to get past

13 was pretty damn bad but nearly the same gameplay was in 13-2, just refined a bit, with a much better story, so gotta give credit to 13 for laying the foundation for something better.
15 so far has been shit and doesn't look like it's gonna get redeemed.

No shit I played it, and it’s fucking great. There’s some grinding but welcome to 80s RPGs. The actual grind is probably only a couple of hours total, unless you’re one of those retards who thinks you NEEEEED to break the game and max out your stats because someone told you you could.
