Make the final entry of a lore heavy series anime exclusive in a series that was purely games up until then
Nah, you had to be there.
It was alright, i mean, coulda been a hell of a lot better. Switching between two different seasons every episode was kind of annoying.
I liked it.
You only liked Seiko.
The future arc was alright, everything in the past was super disappointing though. Brainwashing anime was stupid as hell
i remember junko gay-shaming a particular character in future in order to prevent him from blabbing to the the president of the school/the gay character's lover about the brainwashed dr2 characters. more than the brainwash anime, that was when the show really lost me.
I thought the switching wasn't too bad.
Where they really dropped the ball was making the brainwashing anime the reason for everyone from DR2 fall into despair.
I was getting ready for each character of DR2 getting some focus as to how they fall into despair in their own unique way.
OP here, saying nobody watching it is a bit of a stretch. I meant that overall nobody actually remembers it in a meaningful way like DR 1 and 2 and even V3, an alternate universe entry that could almost be counted as a spin off is discussed and remembered more than it is. It existed, it went, and now you'd be lucky to find someone who knows the name of half of the characters introduced.
Making a 9-10 hour anime off of games that are about 25-30 hours a piece was a fucking mistake.
Chiaki dying was cool and all for a motive but the video hypnosis despair stuff was kinda lame.
It being an anime was a main reason DR3 threads were so good. Nobody knowing what was going to happen next and being able to come up with crackpot theories and shitpost together on Zig Forums made up for however shitty the actual plot ended up being. If it was a game it would have been completely forgettable
I was kidding actually, yeah, we memed it at the time but it's fucking mediocre. It may be the Danganronpa equivalent of Zero Time Dilemma.
>Why yes, I LOVE Danganronpa! How could you tell?
DR 1, 2, and even V3 are still discussed today while DR3 was only discussed in the moment.
DR2 is the best entry in the series and what doomed it to ruin at the same time.
It's the perfect sequel in the way that it play with expectations players of the original have but in the same stroke condemns the series to strive for subversion over good storytelling.
JUUUZO BOYS where you at?
It wasn't THAT bad.
>>Make the final entry of a lore heavy series anime exclusive in a series
Final entry of the hopes peak arc, and possibly not even that with Kodaka leaving
That's closer to V3, although it's fucking stupid to compare an anime to a game series written mostly by one person anyway
Super based.
This.
V3 was filled with "WOAH SHOCK VALUEEEEEEE LOOK HOW BALLSY TO THE WALLSY WE ARE XDDD" to the point where the story made no fucking sense.
If killing Chiaki was meant to make the SDR2 cast fall into despair why even have brain washing? Couldn't Junko have just brainwashed them from the start?
What even is despair? It's clearly not the emotion since the remnants during their time siding with Junko display anything but sadness?
How was Ryota able to edit live footage anyway?
Why is Kodaka Japanese J.K Rowling?
Despair is literally "The Dark Side". Anyone who falls into despair immediately becomes a villain wanting to destroy humanity for some fucking reason.
If DR3 was made into a game and followed the same major story beats it wouldn't have been discussed ever.
The problem with the anime is that it attempts to answer questions that were never meant to be answered.
You can't give an explanation as to how a high school girl throws the world into the apocalypse because it makes no sense. And the more you try to explain it the more peole start to think about it and realize this.
>Couldn't Junko have just brainwashed them from the start?
No, Despair is apparently such a powerful force that just some measly brainwashing can't do it alone. You need to see the death of a loved one on top of the subliminal messaging.
>That nigger who had a wrist band that said he'd die if her opened his left or right hand
You can't tell me he had his hand shut the entire time before looking at his wrist band. Fuck DanganRonpa 3. Actually pulling stuff out their ass.
Also
>Giving someone a bracelet that didn't allow them to witness violence of any sort
>IN A FUCKING DEATH GAME
That's a pretty good point actually.
So did the armbands just not activate until everybody looked at them?
Tengan just really hated Bandai's voice.
Also
>change the english voice cast for no good reason
NYUK NYUK NYUK NYUK
Is there someone who can contain /ourboy/?
Best girl
juzoboys are reddit boys.
Yes.
It was fucking garbage in hindsight, but watching it live was a wild ride.
It's actually pretty impressive how they managed to expand the universe by like a dozen characters and not made a single one of them worth remembering.
