ITT: Name a popular series you never played and have no interest in checking out...
Anything Ubisoft, except maybe Splinter Cell and, well, I tried Mario/Rabbids. Wasn't a fan.
The Banjo Kazooie games
Xenoblade, as I have zero interest in any RPG with automated combat and a cooldown-based skill system. Yes, that includes your precious MMOs.
Despite loving to watch numbers go up, going from 50 damage to literal millions in Disgaea sounds like a massive and ultimately unsatisfying fucking grind.
I've never played an FPS past like, the 6th generation that I thought was worth a complete playthrough.
Casttlevania
The last of us
FF is so diverse now I'm sure you can find something you like in one of them, plus it's a nice journey through each of the games being relatively carefree.
Metroid
Castlevania
Diablo
Any JRPG series
Silent Hill
Was gonna say Resident Evil but I did give 4 a chance back in the day, couldn't get into it. Guess I technically also bought REmake a few years back around halloween but I didn't play it for more than thirty minutes either.
I just don't like horror games man
>Legend of Zelda
Your loss.
Anything by sony that isn't Parappa, Siren, or Let's Golf. Everything current looks like movie shit (God of War, Uncharted, Last of Us, Ghost of Sashimi, Spiderman), and everything they made before looks like kiddie shit (Crash, Spyro, Jak, Ratchet, Sly)
Gravity Rush is kino and I think it was made by the Siren devs
Spiderman was alright
Anything Souls or Souls-like.
Jak and Dexter 1 (The original) is actually pretty good I feel.
And while very childish Crash, Spyro and to a lesser respect Ratchet can still offer a fun experience. I would like you to challenge your notion that 'kidieshit' or 'games made for younth' is inherently bad.
Additionally I would ask you consider Wipeout to add to your exclusion list, as it is far from a movie game.
Fallout and Grand Theft Auto. Couldn't care less
Any of sonys 3rd person crap
Tlou
God of war
Hzd
Days gone
My ps4 is gathering dust since I finished p5 like 2 years ago
The original fallout games were alright, after brotherhood of steel (the first Fallout 3) it all went downhill
You'd probably have a funner time playing Underrail, though.
Gta is absolutely not worth your time
>Silent Hill
Why?
>not interested in JRPGs
>wants people to say why you should or shouldn't keep it that way
What?
Pretty much every current popular game
There a few good current popular games, change your habit
Name 3.
You've not played many JRPGs if you think not being interested in Xenoblade or Disgaea = not being interested in JRPGs.
Jackie Chan
Have you tried Chrono Trigger? It is the JRPG for people who are not fans of the JRPG genre. It exemplifies all the things that draw people to the genre (fantastic locations, engaging story, strong world-building, strategic combat) while mitigating many of the factors that drive people away (excessive backtracking, repetitive grinding, filler fluff, endless cutscenes and dialogue).
If you are not turned off by 16-bit sprite graphics (albeit some of the best out there), you should give it a try.
I have played a TON of JRPGs.
More than you.
Not him, but last time I tried to play this game I got bored as shit
If you want a real good JRPG series, play the Mario and Luigi series or the first 2 paper mario games
>the bread in his half-zip sweater
I just got it, it's a reference to the upper crust
Hahahhaaha
Anything from japan except for nintendo
Let me rephrase that.
I'm sure you've played a ton JRPGs with worse combat than Xenoblade & Disgaea.
Metroidvanias
Arena shooters
Zelda, Mario, Final Fantasy, Fallout, Dark Souls(tho i played the fuck outta Sekiro its my last years goty i loved it).
>FF
>Zelda
As one user already mentioned there is plenty if diversity in the FF series. You're sure to find the one game that you'll like. This also includes spin-offs like Mario RPG and Chocobo's dungeon. Meanwhile Zelda has the same thing going for it. Playing one Zelda doesn't give you a great idea of what to expect from the others. The 2d games are all different from one another and the 3d games are very different as well.
You should play at least 2 Zelda games, if only for historical significance. Link to the Past perfected the formula, gameplay wise, and Ocarina of Time was the first good 3D adventure game (and they both still hold up amazingly well). But although there's some tweaks to the formula here and there, every other game is just a rehash of these 2. That's not to say they aren't fun, but they simply aren't worth your time if you have better stuff to do (raise family, pay off debt, etc.). If you're wasting your time playing garbage like Overwatch or LoL, then fucking delete that shit and never play it again; play more, better games.
I do like how the Mario RPGs like to add a lot of action elements to the combat to keep it engaging. That said, if you don't like filler and backtracking, beware the Paper Mario series.
Dead Rising. Seems similar to Musoushit and those put me to sleep
Mario 3 and Yoshi's Island are still fun.
As someone who was forced to play through it by their cousins, I came out with the conclusion that it's just a third person action game with high production values and a serious tone in contrast to the usual camp in zombie games.
Metal Gear
Metroid
Soulsborne
Kingdom Hearts
Crash Bandicoot
>I'm sure you've played a ton JRPGs with worse combat than Xenoblade & Disgaea.
I can guarantee I have played more JRPGs in general than you.
I played Silent Hill for the first time a few weeks ago. Couldn't figure out how to aim and shoot the flying monster thing in the diner so I turned it off and gave up
Minecraft
Fortnite
LoL
World of Warcraft
Dota
Dark Souls
Overwatch
Jak or Ratchet isn't very kiddish
