Don't get me wrong, FF7R is a great game. But you cannot convince me it's better than pic related. Yes, FFXV has a little rough around the edges, but just compare the endgames of the two. FFXV has tonnes of dungeons and lore to discover. FF7R has....a combat VR simulator lol..
Don't get me wrong, FF7R is a great game. But you cannot convince me it's better than pic related. Yes...
shut the fuck up XVfag
I don't see how you can be serious about this.
Fuck off Barry. 7R is the first good FF game in decades. Tabatas roadtrip shartmess was stillborn and is quite possibly the blandest most boring most soulless FF game ever made. Go play GTAV faggot
They're both shit.
Yeah XV shits all over FF7R
7R > XIII > XV
>Denial
>Anger
>Bargaining
You are Here
>Depression
>Acceptance
>tfw FF14 is the most "final fantasy" game recently.
Could not they seperate the franchise between actual final fantasy and those emo Dante wanna be games?
>7R is less than a third of the original
>Still feels like more of a complete game than XV with all it’s DLC let alone release version
The state of XV-fags
FFXV- summons are central to the plot
FF7R- summons are just some materia you win from VR fights
So Summons are not important like in the original FF7? Crazy how it works sometimes.
user, I think you may be understimating how shit FFXIII is. FFXV is bad, but at least the bros are ok and Ardyn is good. Still worse than FF7R
>FFXV is bad
this is incorrect
As someone currently playing XV I'd be mightily impressed if FF7R ends up worse than it. And that's even knowing about the fucking time jannies in all their splendor.
I'm sure now that I've hit chapter 13 about 10 minutes ago, the chapter even I heard bemoaned about over the internet despite not actively looking for it, my already moderately low appreciation of the game could very well drop even further.
I will say that the Chocobo Riding is easily the best part of the game and most likely the best showing they'll ever have in any FF game. Even the music changes when driving them through water, the only thing with the same high attention to detail is that delicious looking food you can whip up.
Square just finally realized that its fans don't want new things. Just remade games with copypasted code from the previous games
and?
imagine defending this clusterfuck
Remember VR fights from the original? You can't excuse it by saying "it's like the original" when clearly it's not
8+/10 is a great score user
you could literally just pick up materia from the ground like in the original
fuck off with your garbage game
>new game comes out
>suddenly old shit good
No. XV is fucking dogshit.
In the og summons are just found lying around in red materia with no importance to the plot whatsoever. In the REmake you're still inside midgar, but they gave you summons anyway and a boss fight to go with it.
I am not a huge FF fan, just a casual enjoyer of it. Why is FFXV hated? Gameplay was right up my alley and the story was really solid.
I could understand butthurt about cancelled DLC but the game itself was very enjoyable.
Or is it just fanrage that it isn't like old FF games?
They're both mediocre games, but 7R has the benefit of being based off a good game. XV is just all-round dull.
See
>and the story was really solid
Initial release was unfinished.
Royal Edition doesn't make up for it.
Story is gutted garbage, what the fuck are you on about?
He's right though
shut the fuck up retard
>combact is piss easy, with no real depth to it
>magic is trash to use and craft
>auto summon, and just 4 of them, no control whatsoever
>stuck in development hell for 7 years min
>a lot of stuff was cut (Altissia was reduced in size, Insomnia invasion was turned into a movie, no Tenebrae, imperial continent is just a joyful ride in a train
>story was heavily altered
>story still feels incomplete, and was scattered between a movie, an anime and 4 dlc episodes
user the plot holes where the size of jupiter, everyone who bought the game day one was scammed out of content and even then, the Royal Edition lacks DLCs.
>He's right though
The OP of this thread has caused more damage to the game’s reputation than the actual game’s quality.
>story chopped up for a shitty movie and anime as well as literally unfinished DLC
>really solid
fuck off
Which plot holes would they be
>this
>good
Empire=Shinra
Ardyn=Sephiroth
Lynafreya=Aerith
Thematically, the story is the same as FF7
>Why is FFXV hated?
a huge amount of hype behind a game that was 10 years in the making meant it could probably never have lived up, even if it had actually been a complete product on release. Which it was not. The plot and production was all over the place from going through multiple iterations, features and systems were added, cut, redesigned, re-added, and cut again. The Open world was big empty and dull. Enemies are either braindead or hyper aggressive with little to no visual ques for countering their attacks - one of the most dangerous things you will ever face is a mid game enemy in the Querl which will fucking wreck you high above it's weight class simply because it has an instant kill and moves around so much the camera - which is shit - cannot follow it.
The story is stretched out way too far and big chunks are missing. Difficulty is non existent due to the ability to revive from down with basic healing, but that's necessary because of how quickly and unfairly the game doles out KO's. Magic is basically useless and pointless and only exists as a trash item synch. Side quests are bland and repetetive. The cuts to the story make many of the characters come off as schitzophrenic or insane, and this is a problem only partly fixed later with the addition of the DLC's.
Even if you never played it till Royal Edition which came- what, 1, 2 years later? - the game is obviously rough and unfinished. The plot such as it is basically jumps on a runaway train car once you get the boat and all the following regions are even more gutted than the first two. Many many fixes would come with royal addition but if you played this game on release it was comically bad, and royal just made it tolerable.
I liked the banter, the road tripping, the monster hunting was fucking mindless but comfy - a good grinding game. But I was still glad when it was over and jesus christ does it wear out it's welcome. To say nothing of the shitty implementation of the DLC's
I see Barry is still in full cope mode.
has there ever been a more laughable vidya death you were supposed to care about?
>FF7 bonus + Sony exclusive bonus can't even get it above 90
Oh dear...
I felt more for the fucking car.
>The story
I honestly didn't figure out until Water Serpent that they were actual gods I was running around collecting blessings from because it's never explicitly stated in the main story until that point.
Uronically, the car is more useful and important than Lunafreya to FFXV plot.
try harder
>FFXV had a 10 year hype train going for it
>barely 81
Cope harder
What was the point of this scene at the end?? Are they dead or not?
Okay thanks this actually says the most. I only played the Royal Edition so that actually explains a lot why I don't see what the asspain is all about.
Errr how would that work in its favor? That would have the opposite effect moron
