So it's going to suck like the last remaster, right?

Stop using the word remaster, for fucks sake. It doesn't actually mean anything.
If It's a remake, call it a remake
If it's a port, call it a port.

I keep asking but never get a response, was THPS5 ever patched to be playable?

Remaster means something though.

The other Tony Hawk games Vicarious Visions worked on were solid, so I'm optimistic.

Remaster, remake and port are three different things

So long as you're willing to preorder digitally, there's going to be a demo so you'll be able to determine that for yourself.

Weren't those isometric overhead GBA games? This isn't that.

They also did the PS1 version of THPS4, along with American Sk8land, Downhill Jam, and Proving Grounds for the DS. I believe they were all based on THPS2's code, and according to interviews they're still have that code and are basing the remakes on it.

In the context of video games, remaster means nothing at all. It's just a marketing buzzword they use to attract morons who don't know what they're buying.

>Ducktales Remastered
Remake
>Last of Us Remastered
Port
>Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered
Remake
>Assassin's Creed 3 Remastered
Port
>Day of the Tentacle Remastered
Remake
>Final Fantasy VIII Remastered
Port

Slightly altering game content or visuals does not make a port anything other than a port. This happens regularly between generations or from console to PC.

>Slightly altering game content or visuals does not make a port anything other than a port
Yeah it does. It makes it a remaster.

>only get to try out the demo after you've already paid for the game
there is so much wrong with this

Congratulations, you just defined a remaster.

Look, faggot, demos only convince people not to pay for games. Devs would be stupid to just offer a demo for free.

No it doesn't.
GTA V for PC, wasn't a remaster, it was a port.
But it still had improved lighting and textures, and introduced new features like a custom radio station and a video recording and editing mode.

But I obviously didn't, since there's games labelled "Remaster" that are remakes, not ports.
And there are games ported that are just ports, not remasters.

If you consider the word remaster to be anything but a marketing term for idiots, you are one of those idiots.

GTA V for PC is a port of the Xbone/PS4 versions.
The Xbone/PS4 versions are remasters of the 360/PS3 versions for the reasons you mentioned, despite not being maerketed as such.

What the fuck. Every time I’ve ever been on the fence about a video game, a playable demo has always sealed the deal for me.
The only reason a dev would hide their demo is if they don’t have faith in their own product, and that should be a concern right away.

>slightly altering visuals

Yeah, except with remasters like Crash, Spyro, CTR etc, it's not a 'slight' alteration is it, you faggot.

Because they're REMAKES
What part of this aren't you getting?

I tired the open beta for OnRush and it convinced me that I was right to call the game shit.

I think I even had the game preordered up to that point.

I wasn't gonna pre-order it, but when I found out the deluxe edition comes with the Falcon 2 skateboard, I couldn't help it.
Would have preferred Full Skull 99 in red from THPS2, but Falcon 2 is still good.

You're so close to grasping the truth, but your retarded nigger brain won't let you.
remaster is nothing but a marketing term. It doesn't actually mean anything. If it's not marketed as a remaster, it isn't a remaster. it's just a port, which has been my point the entire time.

Square Enix put out a demo for FFVII Remake and preorders for it went up.

>If it's not marketed as a remaster, it isn't a remaster
And you call other people retarded. Impressive.
Here's a tip: just because marketers misuse terminology to sell their products doesn't mean the terminology doesn't work or shouldn't exist.
"Remaster" has a definition, regardless of what marketing wants to make of it.

No it doesn't. It's literally just a marketing term.
"port" has a definition. "enhanced port" has a definition. "remake" has a definition. A remaster it a term applied to any of these things because it sounds appealing to the average consumer.

So here I am

"Remaster" and "enhanced port" are synonymous.

Except the remasters that aren't enhanced at all, and the remasters that are actually remakes.

But Final Fantasy 8 is actually a remake, they lost the source code they had to rebuild everything for it. Shit look at the models side by side and its obvious it isnt a port

the ps3 remaster was so bad

ONCE THERE WAS

You’re an idiot

>Except the remasters that aren't enhanced at all
Yeah they are, it's in the definition.
>and the remasters that are actually remakes
Remakes are a different thing. They have changes too profound to be called a remaster.

he drove so goddamn fast

No, I'm not.
If you disagree with me, you've been duped.
