Ok, so, a bit of a rant, but I'm so disappointed by this game. I bought it and dowloaded it after reading some really great reviews and I thought this would be a great game. Maybe it is, but I just can't advance from a certain point. I'm in this place called "Forgoten Crossroads" and I tried to go to every spot on the map, including a green stage just at the left, and they are all closed or too hight to jump, and I can't go any further. I tried to buy a key (costing 960 money) and opened a door in the top right of Dirtmouth, but I just talked to a character that told me that I needed to regret something (??) in order to have her help.
I'm so disappointed, because this looks a great game, its art and sound direction looks really good, one of the best I've seen in a while. The gameplay itself is cool, you have this little sword, and animation looks more than ok. So yeah, I think this is either some really bad design or I just suck at it (maybe a bit of both). It is so boring to walk around and don't find an answer or an exit, and I can't really guess exactly what I should do next. So I'm stuck and I thought about looking at a walkthrough, but c'mon, I've played only 2 hours and I already need a walkthrough or a faq? So I decided to just quit it, because it sucks when I just have to look at somewhere else to go further and it is something with lots of spoilers and it takes the fun away of the game.
I got really pissed about it, because this looks so good, I just love its art, maybe I wouldn't care if the game looked horrible, but it doesn't, it looks great, and I can't f...ing progress. So I just thought, why get pissed about it? I will just uninstall it and move away. I have this philosophy that we shouldn't play or do something if it is making us angry or feeling bad in anyway, so despite my whishes to this to be a great game, I just can't enjoy it, so yeah, I'm giving up.
sounds like you're bashing your head against a wall instead of trying to explore new places the game doesn't hold your hand, you're supposed to explore, progress and come back to areas you can't explore when you have the ability to progress

Fuck you Op, fuck you for making me get up and get the vodka again.
The point is, I don't know what else to do, and I mean it. Maybe I let something behind, but I'm convinced I looked at every spot. I'll try to pass at least the Forgotten Crossroads and see what nexts I should do. Thanks.
John Collins
>itt: just explore, don't have fun.
Brandon Smith
How was OP supposed to know you could use down attack to bounce off the mushrooms? Fuck reddit knight.
Jaxson Taylor
That's part of the fun. OP is just retarded. And so are you.
Owen King
There’s really nothing overly hidden from you, you literally just have to look at the map and see where you haven’t gone and go there.

Maybe this game is a bit overrated (because of how it looks, since it's a beautiful game)? The level design doesn't look impressive, it should be a bit easier to figure out what to do. Not something obvious, but a bit easier and intuitive. I've played a lot of Metroid games, and except the first one for NES, the other ones don't look that horrible to figure out what to do and they give you plenty of power ups and places to explore.
Julian Peterson
The game design is good so it's unfortunately just a case of you being bad, OP. Is this your first exploration platformer?
You need to look for places you haven't been yet instead of banging your head against the same walls over and over. With that said, if you've got no sense of direction, poor memory and lack the ability to feel the joy of exploration, this genre is not for you.
Sebastian King
just go to places you havent gone before

You have to beat the tutorial boss to advance to other areas, simple as that.
Nice blog OP you dumdum. If you really looked everywhere you'd 100% get somewhere but you clearly didn't.
Fuck that game, fuck this area, dropped it then and there Then I started it again 3 years later, beat the whole thing in 2 days and now on will of the wisps. Playing The Messenger and doing its collectalthlon made me too strong. Still can't stomach Momodora or any other game by that dev though, fuck dark souls 2D.
I think I did. Is it one that the doors get closed and I need to fight him? Yes, I think so. If I didn't, I don't know where it is, since I looked at any point in the map and entered in all the doors that I saw. Well, maybe my game is with a bug and I need to reinstall it and try it again. But it is hard to know in this type of games (metroidivania) if something is wrong with the game itself or if we missed something.

I want this to be bait. The game is perfectly fine. You missed something.
I did that and still couldn't do that area in Ori for the longest time.
You wanna know why? Floaty physics and input latency. Ori has both, HK has none of that. Really makes me appreciate when devs actually put work into giving you good controls and then making a challenge for you to beat. The Messenger was like that too, games from Vaka are like that as well(Pharaoh Rebirth+, Touhou Luna Nights etc.)
sorry you blind and cant read all the post

The lack of efficient fast travel is the worse padding I've ever seen in a videogame. You will take 40 hours to beat it. 30 of those hours will be backtracking. Don't waste your time anymore, if you are under 2 hours refund it.

Honestly what makes this game easier is finding thr mao guy as soon as you can. When you have a map the exploring becomes way easier. (You can find the map maker by a paper trail and when you are in the same room you hear humming.) Also I do agree how some mechanics are somewhat hidden, I didn't even know you could bounce off enemies with down thrust but I think that has been a stable in vidya for like 40 years? I really do adore this game, it's such an amaizing experience with good gameplay. Really excited for silversong, probably will be a more refined game.
>floaty physics they might be floaty movement but its still precise and accurate >input latency sounds like a you problem
Anthony Wright
I love this game, but OP is right. There are a some parts that just don't explain where to go next -- you have to keep in mind where the various key locations are, and what key would enter into them, as well as which other gates to your progress exist. It wouldn;t be an issue if the game weren't so goddamn massive. It would be better if the map allowed for better info input -- like leaving a note on a certain section ("shadow gate here").
t. completed the game 100% (but cheated the last 2 parthenons because fuck that bullshit)

It's difficult to take these threads seriously after the countless pure shitpost spam threads. It's honestly difficult to tell the genuine threads apart from some of the higher effort shitposts.

HOW DO YOU RETARDS KEEP GETTING LOST BEFORE WALLJUMP?
THE FIRST TWO MAPS YOU GET LITERALLY LEAD YOU TO THE BOSSES.

>Floaty physics and input latency. Ori has both on what platform?
