The full release is out today.
I've been having a blast with it and I honestly don't know why it isn't talked about more.
It's like Left 4 Dead, but will fully destructible environments, 4 unique classes and a variety of customizable weapons.
It's also got a tonne of cosmetics that are unlocked in game instead of through one of those cancerous microtransaction stores.
Tl;dr, game is good. Rock and stone.

Did they finally add actually fun enemies to fight?
inb4 someone posts the stupid fucking basedjack with "rock and stone"
shut the fuck up we are having fun
Safe to assume if I don't have friends I won't enjoy this as much, or at all?
>I've been having a blast with it and I honestly don't know why it isn't talked about more.
Where? Here? This game gets a thread a couple of times a week.
The game is a 4/10 by yourself and a 7/10 with friends
I've played a fair amount with randoms and unlike other games of the type, DRG is relatively pleasant without friends. Haven't run into any spergs. Solo is boring as.
I played 300 hours with randoms, it's still great
Le rock and le Stone bruther xD actually reddit tier
I only have 1 friend who bought DRG and usually play with randos, it's still great.
The game has a ping system and the class based gameplay encourages teamwork. I only play on the hardest difficulty and I have a good time.
Is it fun enough with 1 friend?
it's fun enough without any friends
what did they add for 1.0 release?
Nothing of note except for bug fixes and more promotion tiers.
So microtransactions
Looked interesting, but dwarves are one of my least favourite fantasy races.
They seriously need to add more gamemodes.
Only 3 out of the 5 modes are any fun, which are elimination, egg hunt, and mining expedition.
The other two, point extraction and salvage mule are boring as fuck, and 90% of the time will have “samey” maps
there are no microtransactions?
It's fun enough with randoms, they're for the most part not retarded, but you will feel it when one is.
Absolutely agree. More than anything else we need some more mission types, Salvage is fucking ass and I hate playing it
paid cosmetic DLC. whatever. same breed of cancer
Are you retarded? There are none in this game. You unlock cosmetics in game.
Cosmetic DLC is literally the least offensive type of monetization
I respect it for any dev who wishes to continue providing the base game with free content updates
Who's gonna tell him
They added some cosmetic DLC with the 1.0 launch. He's still a fucking retard for complaining about it, literally who the fuck cares aslong as it's not gameplay locked behind cash
>game praised for being one of the few remaining games to have cosmetics unlocked via gameplay instead of money adds money skins
>"who cares when x does it"
lol
The game is designed to be super easy to communicate with random teammates. You don't need a close-knit core of friends to drag along to enjoy it, but it doesn't hurt, obviously.
oh shit didn't even see those, gonna buy them right now
Hey faget, we've been over this.
But I need something to complain about, fuck off faggot
...
funny, terraria has been getting updates for 9 years and never felt the need to have any sort of monetization :^)
My friends and I started playing when we all bought the game in a sale a couple months back. They went back to playing CSGO or assfaggots and I was the only one who kept playing DRG. Randoms aren't cancerous and know what they're doing most of the time.
>no sale
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
There's probably going to be a temporary influx of greenbeards now, but as the initial wave wears off, better miners stick around.
because terraria is tiny sprites so it would be difficult to charge people for literally less than 100 pixels of color
Terraria is also the most based game to ever exist, you can't compete with that.
I don't mind new players since the game mechanics aren't deep enough that it's actually plausible to get a handle on most classes just from playing a few games or observing how veteran players play.
