I used to feel optimistic when the new Unreal Engine comes out like I knew videogames are taking a defined step forward in improved visuals, but this gen made me realize devs make intentionally ugly games, so it doesn't matter how many amazing tools you develop anymore.

Gears of War 5 on maximum looks better than that tech demo.
