What's the status of this store?

I'm genuinely curious, has anyone actually ever looked at the steam ratings before deciding to buy a game? I usually just look up gameplay footage on youtube or something.

nobody does that shit, people only use ratings when they don't like something the devs do so they boycott with bad reviews

If it's a game with "mixed" reviews I read the reviews. If it's a game I was really anticipating and it reviews negative I may read them.

i use store ratings and the discussion boards in steam to figure out if the game runs well, if it's still being actively developed, to find people to play online with in lesser populated games

I completely ignore negative 0.3 hour reviews that say stuff like "keyboard controls are bad"

I'm sure they are doing alright, but I'd rather just buy on steam because of the extra features. Epic doesn't even have a discussion board, so if you have an issue to troubleshoot you're probably going to end up opening steam anyways. I appreciate the free games and would like to learn UE4.

That's how I look at steam reviews, to see how well optimized the game is and to confirm any suspicions I might have

Its quite impressive that epic managed to make steam pretty irrelevant in a matter of a single year. With GTA V being free tommorow i think it may be a final nail in the coffin for steam unfortunately.

Is there a reason why Steam fans are still so deluded regarding the state of their launcher? I thought its not really a secret that steam has been dying quickly since EGS came on the stage.

It has exclusive games and free games.

its way better than steam at this point, the only thing that missing is shopping cart but its mostly intentional to avoid you buying too many shit like on steam that you wont ever play like a fucking idiot, once they add shopping cart it will be far superior than steam, even now its so much better to use already
