Its just not the standard kind of game that gives instant rewards that people are so use to. The game's slow boil tends to drive a lot of people away or give them the want to time travel in order to grab their list of absolute favorite villagers in the span of a week. I was lucky enough to know people who had some of the villagers I wanted, but honestly Im surprised how much the ones I didnt intend to hold onto ended up warming up to me. Reneigh and Hippeux both ended up being villagers that warmed themselves into being some of my favorites. I'm glad they gave us more choices, but it feels like having the power to get absolutely anyone you want so easily takes a bit away from what the games use to be about. Coming to love the randoms that you ended up with.
