I liked actual punchout but here it feels iffy. Maybe I'm blind and the attacks aren't telegraphed well enough but I literally had no idea what was I doing

Second time is quite challenging but totally doable with some practice. Pay attention to their eyes. If they don’t blink, just roll (ZR)

Eh I kept looking out for some cool counters like in actual punchout but couldn't score any. I recall first tutorial mentioned that mechanic is present too.

I Started the game again on hard, but Wonder-googles isn't working, how do I unlock it?

>only found 3 hero heart pieces in my entire playthrough

yes, if you dodge perfectly and give a nice counter, you get a star, 3 are enough to KO. Timing is ass though.

managed to do it in the 2nd punch-out fight

Wonder-Goggles is a secret character, one of several. You unlock each of them by completing a set of bottle cap challenges associated with them, which you can see in the Bottle cap section of your menu. A lot of them have hidden requirements though. For Goggles, you need:
>Complete the Prologue
>Repel 10 attacks using Unite Guts
>Find all the Kahkoo-regah in the Epilogue
>Activate 100 Unite Morphs
>Obtain three special Unite Morphs
>Complete a giant-robot boxing match without taking damage

If you go to your bottle cap collection there's a secrets tab which shows the hidden characters and the requirements for them.

By the way, has anyone got that last one by beating the epilogue kahkoo regah? I beat it on Hard but the bottle cap didn't unlock.

No, I did the epilogue kahkoo-regah on normal and didn't get it either, I only got it when I went back and did 005-C again.

Turtles are actually pretty simple to deal with. Just guts and fist them until they fall over, then get as much damage in as possible. In-between use hammer to keep up the combo. If there's two of them, stand next to one while watching what the other is doing.

Dinosaurs are the real anti-fun enemy. Unless you do the QTE they will refuse to cooperate. They will even shield while fucking frozen by a Unite Bomb. There's no way around it since their backside still takes significantly reduced damage. Even trying to bait their tail to get a guts isn't reliable since a lot of the time they just keep turning around, it's infuriating. Plus they have way more health.

Enemy design relies on hard counters way too much
This kinda feels like an anti-Platinum game in this regard. Something more suited for Okami except this time they aren't doing Zelda clone.

Finished it, it was my first playthrough in about 5 years.
Gonna replay on Normal to get the All Platinum achievement + collectibles, then move on to Hard and 101%.

I remember in the original Wii-U game you have to beat every secret mission on every difficulty as part of the requirement to get Vorkken. Is that still the case or did the new version make it like the wonder toilets where you only need to do complete 1 difficulty's set of secret missions?

It's a Kamiya game. Kamiya's the guy who made DMC1. You know, the game where you could instantly kill some of the enemies in the game by attacking them in the right way.

You at least have to complete them on more than one difficulty, I don't know if it's still all of them. They relaxed the condition to unlock Immorta though, you need to find all of the kahkoo-regah to unlock her and that can be done on a single difficulty now.

I don't know why, but I cannot input the unlock characters code, seeing multiple different input methods and none of them work.

Nevermind, didn't you had to move back into the spot after holding ZR.

How do you deal with the big slime enemies without using unite sword??

with unite claw

Does this game have a Space Harrier segment before a boss that you have to replay if you die against said boss?

It has a space harrier segment, but it isn't before a boss. Most of the bosses do have shooting segments though, but they're all much shorter and less demanding than Bayonetta's afterburner section, and the last boss battle against your rival is exempt from this.

When are the backer physical versions supposed to come after the delay?

I’m not sure how I feel about the limited weapons against enemies thing. On one hand it does make every weapon useful in some way but it also means you’re forced to use a boring weapon like the whip or hammer sometimes. I think maybe they should have made those weapons a bit more enjoyable to use but as of now if I see a spiked enemy or turtle the game grinds to a halt.

late June

Sword, claw or naginata.
If you need extra points for the platinum, try doing spring just as they attack for the dodge bonus, it's faster than waiting for them to use their laser.

man i love using the hammer and the whip for specialized enemies, feels like i'm cracking open a tough shell or something

How well does it play on PC?

Didn't follow the kickstarter. I hope they are giving you guys digital versions while you wait.

Thanks. I think I'll give this game a try.

Physical backers got steam keys, yeah.
There are some bugs if you play above 1080p and from what I've heard it seems the ultra-wide monitor support they mentioned isn't in the game yet, otherwise it runs perfectly.

For 005 I don't even go for the KO punches anymore, I have an easier time just wailing on them. Remember that if they bodyblow, bodyblow back in response after dodging and alternate left/right, and if he uppercuts, or goes for a high attack, uppercut back. Doing this alone will absolutely rape the 005 boss, I don't even bother with the KO punch on him because he barely ever leaves himself open anyways.
Gimme is harder and you can't just rape him by doing what you did on 005, but the same concept applies.
If you want to go for the star punches, look at their eyes. The timing is hard, I'm usually too early.

For spiked enemies just use as large a whip as possible to get more spikes off. For turtles stand right next to one and bait out a stomp so you can guts it, then fist them to knock them over and go to town.

Looking pretty good there, Blue.

How do I get Kahkoo-Regah 09 to show? It's the one in 4-B thats supposed to be appear after opening elevator door back at the start. You start the operation by fighting Vorrken.

I beat the original game. It was decent, but I don’t understand why it gets its dick sucked so much.

You have to drop off the edge of the arena and go through a tube to a secret area where you can recruit some people, then when you go back out and backtrack a bit the Kahkoo-Regah will be on the ground.

I've done that, also opened the door with the claw but nothing yet. Been waiting about 5 minutes. Reloading to see if that solves it.

Maybe don't open the elevator and just go through the tube.
