Why is this game so hard to get into? I've tried starting it so many times since release but lose interest real quick. I see clips of people fighting swarms of enemies and climbing on giant beasts etc and it looks cool but when I play it it seems boring and doesn't kept my attention to keep me playing long enough to see it. It feels so dull and slow and the ugly graphics don't help either.
I've got it on the Switch in a sale and I'm willing put in the effort to learn the game to get past the off-putting learning curve. I see people praising the game all the time so I want to experience what they did with the game. Any noob tips you could give me? Post webms to convince me to keep playing. I've just got to the part where I delivered the Hydra head.
>I've tried starting it so many times since release but lose interest real quick sounds like you're playing witcher 3 instead.
Dominic Butler
>the ugly graphics >I've got it on the Switch lol
Julian Reed
Hardly better on PC and consoles since it's an old game. Admit it, the game is ugly as fuck.
Parker Ortiz
What class are you using? If you're not enjoying the current one, you can always switch. It takes a bit of time to unlock all the skills for them though
Wyatt Campbell
I've just changed it to Assassin. I like daggers and bows but thought the sword and shield option could help me later at some point.
Nolan King
Did they actually touch up the game in any way, or was it a straight port from PS3? Yeah I wouldn't say it looks very good technically, but the environments and lighting can be nice
I always liked strider, or any class that is reasonably agile. Assassin is one of the most powerful classes I hear, I never tried it myself though
Asher Anderson
>everyone suggests scather/utilitarian for fighter Why? All this does is have your low bestiary pawn grapple everything and act worried behind a shield. Oh yeah and not kill the gobbos harassing the sorcerer casting murderspell 5000 that'll actually damage the boss. Mitigator with Challenger or Pioneer is much more aggressive, and actually using his skills.
The game sucks til your vocation rank goes up and you learn the fun skills, stick with it for a bit and every other open world RPG will feel like shit because the combat doesn't compare to DD
Michael Gomez
Wanna hear a secret? The game is 6/10
Cameron Brooks
Who do you think you're fooling samefag? Poster count doesn't lie.
>I've just got to the part where I delivered the Hydra head. am I not remembering correctly, or is that right at the beginning?
Tyler Robinson
yes it does :)
John Cook
Yeah, depends on how much time you spend in the starting village though. Always hated delivering that thing on new playthroughs
Isaiah Perez
It actually looks purdy good in handheld mode for some reason. It may be the only third party switch game that doesn't look like ass.
Jace Wilson
Either your pawn has max knowledge on absolutely everything. Or you're at the very beginning when none of the inclinations are that high yet. Or you haven't seen what actually aggressive pawns do.
Kayden Baker
works good for me at level 200 clearing through BBI :)
Owen Myers
maybe an hour in at most
Aiden Sanders
>at level 200 Exactly.
Dominic Hill
See, I'm glad you agree :)
Cooper Reyes
anything other than warrior is wrong
Ethan Bailey
What are the best inclinations for my strider pawn if I want her to climb enemies with her buffed Thousand Kisses and all climbing-based secret augments and just smack the weak spot? Utilitarian? I also want her to kill mages and ranged enemies first so I'm thinking Challenger with Utilitarian
Cooper Howard
Truly good things often test your attention span. The faster it hands you the "gib me epic happening", the less solid it gets as it goes on usually. Habbenings should happen later in the story so they have more impact.
Angel Walker
thanks for the answer. I'm going to start another playthrough this weekend? any anons want to chime in on their favorite classes? I've played a lot assassin, ranger,, magic archer, and warrior.
Christian Perez
I hate that the way magic works in this game encourages ambushes, standing 50 feet away from the enemy, and spamming the exact same spell over and over again. I feel like Warrior is a more satisfying Sorc than Sorc is, hilariously enough.
Carter Hill
Why the fuck are you restarting the beginning of the game again? It's the worst part. Just get to Gran Soren and be done with the suffering. That said, Assassin, Mystic Knight, Strider, and Fighter are all really enjoyable.
I could never get my Strider pawn to climb things when I made one, they always just kept hitting at the legs
Parker Davis
just to refresh my memory, even though not much happens anyway. shouldn't take to long regardless. mystic knight always sounds fun.
Henry Thompson
Mystic Knight is fun if you play him fun. Go for shield parries and use Abyssal Anguish. Carry a staff for when you need primary magic. If you just spam the Great Cannon, which is the meta way, you'll be bored out of your mind.
Jeremiah Evans
I swear this is why JRPGs are such a niche because the casual crowd can't invest as much time as an incel would. >missable quests/questlines Sure why not. I should just play the game again to get that quest :^)
